“Most comfortable roms you'll find for the money”

I have stayer here on many occasions for business and pleasure. While there is no opulent lobby the rooms are by far the biggest you'll find in NYC. The prices are reasonable as well. They have nice exercise facility and a place for breakfast and lunch. Currently undergoing lobby remodeling it a place worth considering if visisting NYC.

It's hard to find rooms anywhere that will hold 5 people, but in cities like New York, it's almost unheard of! We had our two kids with us plus one of their friends and there was plenty of room for all of us. The room had 2 queen beds PLUS a pullout double sofa-bed. This is not clear on the website but should be highly advertised! Other than being large and offering plenty of sleeping space, it was an average hotel room. Typical generic Courtyard and as expected. One of the sheer curtains had a huge tear in it. Not pretty and not sure how somebody hasn't noticed it and replaced it. Other than that, the room seemed to be in good condition and the beds were very comfortable. We had a nice view of the Chrysler Buildings. Location was good with easy access to the subway and attractions.

We did not know when we booked this hotel that the lobby was under renovation. I think everyone should be told of any major construction before booking a hotel. We arrived at the hotel by car and the valet went to park the car ($48 a day). We went inside and realized the entire lobby was walled off. There was an ugly temporary hallway (with exposed wires, beams, plywood, etc. leading to the elevators. We were told to go to the 12th floor for the "lobby". The makeshift lobby is maybe a small conference area? They had 2 desks set up for check-in, 2 computers for using the internet, a couple of sofa chairs and a desk for the concierge. They also had tea (no sugar or sweeteners) and cookies (good). The concierge and front desk staff was pleasant.
From the pictures displayed in the makeshift lobby, the real lobby will look nice when it's done. In the meanwhile, don't expect a pleasant welcome when you open the door to the hotel or a nice place to hang out while waiting to go out or meeting up with friends or family.
Overall, a good base in NYC and great for large families. Just be aware of the lobby under renovation. We would go back and look forward to see the renovated lobby next time.

This hotel is the perfect location for midtown Manhattan. Staff was friendly and efficient. Rooms were up to Marriott standards. Renovations underway are a minor inconveience, but I won't let this keep me from staying there again on my next trip to the city. Overall a very good stay.

I am brand loyal to Marriott and decided to stay at a location new to me in New York. While this location boasted renovations, none were started as to a delay in the process. The rooms were a bit worn, the sheets were scratchy and most of all the location wasn't as good as I'd hoped. There are no really close-by subway lines, although grand central is not far. It's location was not really Times Square and not really near shopping or good food.. The up side is that the area was pretty quiet at night. There's no place to sit and relax in the lobby, but staff was helpful, there's complimentary coffee and wifi, both welcomed.

Stayed here in Feb 2013 with husband and three children (15, 14 and 6).

The hotel is undergoing renovation but this is minimally invasive to the guests. The staff are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to help and always have a cheery word as they pass. There's free beverages in reception in the morning which is a nice touch. Rooms are large and clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the shower always had hot, high pressure water at any time of day or night.

Location is excellent, about 10/15 mins walk to Rockefeller Center/Times Square and the same to Grand Central Terminal.

The concierge here is brilliant - soooo helpful with tickets, directions or general info, his help really added to our experience.

Would definitely stay here again on a repeat visit!

We have just got back after spending five nights here. As others have mentioned, there are renovations going on which don't give a great first impression but once you get to the 12th floor all that changes. The check-in went smoothly and our two rooms had a connecting door. The bedrooms were spacious, clean and the beds were so comfortable. Good bathrooms with powerful shower and plenty of hot water. The rooms are a little tired but they will all be renovated by June 2013. All the staff we encountered were friendly and professional. Complimentary coffee in the morning is a nice touch as are the free to use computers where you can print your boarding passes. For our feeling the location couldn't be better, a 15 minute stroll to Time Square or Central Park and just steps away from the subway. Lots of cafes, restaurants, shops and banks within walking distance. We will definately stay here again next time we are in New York.

Girls trip with my Mother and sisters. Large rooms, we stayed on 22nd floor with a view of Chrysler Building. Subway station very close, excellent restaurants near and front desk staff very accommodating. We will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: View facing Chrysler building.
