If booked early the room rates are very reasonable for this hotel. I feel that the location is good for people interested in the very "touristy" Time Square area. We were there for a Christmas visit and wished we were a little farther north, closer to Central Park or Upper West Side. The hotel seems safe and clean. Rooms were small but efficiently designed. Water pressure in shower was strong and our room had full glass shower doors, so no problem with splashing water as others have mentioned. We had our small dog with us and was pet friendly with $100 non refundable pet fee. There's no real restaurant in the hotel but they sell some simple snacks, beer and wine, and there are tvs and sofas to relax around off of the lobby. The only real problem we had, and it was significant, is we were SO HOT the whole time. We turned heat off completely and even opened our window but didn't solve problem. We were told they were in heat mode and nothing else could be done.

Room Tip: High floor with view

My mother has been working on her bucket list, she is fit and well with just a touch of dementia.... We went on a world trip in June for her 82nd birthday. We stayed at the Marriott, Time Square NYC and the staff were most helful and considerate to an older Australian. She loved the room, overlooking Time Square, it was the trip of a life time. We ate, drank visited the theatre each night and met so many wonderful people. Thank you Marriott staff for making my mothers bucket list most enjoyable... she is still telling her girlfriends how loveing the hotel was and how helpful the staff were to an old lady..

Room Tip: If your from out of town, ask for a room overlooking Time Square...it never sleeps..

First off, at this price point there are dozens of hotels nearby with rats and mildew. What I'm saying is, this is a consistently clean and friendly hotel in a very good location that is competitively priced. Breakfast is not free, but is good, and better than trying to find something nearby. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful, but did not report or have any issues (not sure how they might respond). I hated all of the pillows and my neck hurts after three nights. The display on the clock lights up the room, but you can always unplug it. One day I got a real mat for the bathroom floor, two days they substituted a hand-towel. ? I got a high, interior floor so it was very quiet. It was cold outside, but I had to keep my heater turned completely off as my room was too warm - I even kept the window open much of the time. Those quirks aside, it;s generally a good hotel, good location, good price and I will stay here on my next visit.

Room Tip: High floor and interior to avoid road noise and sirens.

Very very convenient to Times Square and Broadway. Staff is great. Rooms are clean but small but that is to be expected in NYC. The maid was very attentive to my requests - needed more pillows. The lobby is also nice with TVs and a Starbucks. All the staff were very nice and competent.

Room Tip: High floors are nice but elevators are slow.

I associate the Marriott brand with high quality based on previous stays. However, upon arriving to this Times Square location I was taken aback with one problem after another. To start, there were no cups in the room. The problem was solved once I went down to the front desk to request them, but I was met with speculation. Are you sure you didn't overlook them they asked me...Then , when I went to make coffee in the room, I learned the coffee maker was broken. Maintenance had to come and replace the coffee maker...Then the next morning after a shower, I reached for the body lotion to find out that it had been used and not changed; it was crusted with dry lotion under the rim of the bottle. I felt like I had to take a shower again, because clearly the cleaner was not doing job..Does this mean the sheets were not changed and just tidied up ????? Finally, leaving the room I wanted to put the do not disturb sign on the door...that was missing too, and I had to go ask for it....so my entire time there was focused on fixing issues rather than unwinding.....I would definitely say the cleaning staff is cutting corners. Therefore, I question the cleanliness of the rooms. Do they change sheets ,do they wipe the shower floors and then use the same cloth to wipe the toilet seat? There was a hidden camera study done on clealiness of hotels where they watched the cleaners clean and all sorts of unsanitary stuff was going on. Perhaps the Marriot Times Square was one of those hotels...Food for thought before booking this hotel.......

I thought the room was very nice for the location and rate. We were on the 32nd floor and it was fairly quiet, with only a handful of rooms around us. The room was large and lean with some neat amenities such as a printer. There was only one robe so we called for another and they said that it was only one robe per room. Strange.

The lobby is going through a mini remodel but it looks fairly nice other wise. We purchased water from the mini store and since we did not want to put it on the room tab the night manager got snippy and demanding exact change. That's fine, you can have my 55cents, just don't be mean about it and snap at us.

As I mentioned, the location was great, only about a block from Times Square and within a reasonable walking distance of Central Park.

The hotel was very clean, it was in a great location right by Central Park. The staff and service was good. It is a bare bones hotel, no extras except for the valet parking. It was very secure (you have to use your room key to use the elevators or enter the building at night) The shower only has half glass for the door and a hand held shower head. If you tried to put the shower head in the holder water went all over the bathroom. It just was a bad design and couldn't be adjusted properly. They did not skimp on the towels, thats probably why!!! Overall a good value for the money.
