Pros: Location, Price, Hot water, hair dryer, iron, updated bathroom.
Cons: Not wheelchair accessible, MATTRESS not comfortable, VENTILATION almost unbearable, carpet in room is filthy.
First time traveling to New York. Yes the rooms are expensive compared to almost anywhere else. Yes most reviews state the rooms are small. I DIDN'T expect to do much in the room but sleep and shower. I DID expect to sleep comfortably. The room was small but adequate. The bathroom was larger in size compared to the bedroom. Plenty of hot water and the faucet in the tub had a temperature gauge. One of my three pet peeves is standing water in the tub while taking a shower. No problem here. A tiny shelf above the sink was about 4"x16". Both the sink and toilet were very low to the floor. VENTILATION-the temperature outside was 30-40 degrees. The bellman said the hotel can't control the heat SO the A/C had to run all nite to keep the room from becoming too hot? CRAZY…The hotel had 7 floors with an elevator that would not hold four people comfortably. Only once in 6 nights did it present an issue. Noise is an issue in many of the reviews I've read for not only this hotel but most. I did hear a siren occasionally but was for the most part satisfied. The hotel is on an East West street, it is a narrow building and in spite of the poorly fitting window I considered the noise level acceptable.
