Stayed at the Mayfair Hotel last week...I wouldn't even think about staying there again. One elevator - not a joke - just one elevator the size of two people and a roll on bag to handle all guests, cleaning crew, etc.
Then I pre-paid to get the best rate and they charged my credit card $8 three days after checking out for, "NYC fuel charge increases that impacted our electric costs." Seriously, unless you like going up 7 flights of stairs with your bags, getting surprise surcharges that sound shady and watching a TV with about half the channels not working...than look elsewhere. Lastly, the AC window unit sounded like it was going to die any minute!

Room tip: stay somewhere else

I went with my wife to visit New York City for the 1st time in 10 years of marriage. It was one of the best experiences we've had. Even if you could barely move in the room of this hotel but it has the best bed that we slept in all our trips in the U.S. I recommend Mayfair New York for those traveling for the 1st time. Walk out the Lobby Door choose right or left surely you get to where you want to be because everything is just walking distance and you are in the middle of Times Square. What more can you ask for. :)

Room tip: Get the room with the biggest Toilet and Bath. :)

The location is amazing - 2 minutes walk from Time Square. The rooms are tiny, but - you haven't arrived to see the rooms, and they are arranged in a way to max out their space. They charge 4$ 'heating fee' and 2$ charge for luggage store.

Small cosy hotel in a great location. Stay for 7 nights, good service by hotel staff. Easily accessible to uptown and downtown with subway just round the corner.
Am using single room which is a bit small but just enough for my size and cosy enough.:)

Dont go to this hotel,
the room are dirty, the bad staff , and the lift is in bad condition, dangerous.
The room are noisy.
The situation of the hotel is good.
Adding a lilltle bit more and you can have a better hotel.

My advice, never go to this hotel.
