What a surprise! In a center of everything, but not too noisy. Beautiful rooms(not so big though) with a stunning views. Very close to Times Square and Central park. Really worth it!!! Don't think twice.

My room was tiny and poorly maintained. The closet had no shelves. Decor attempts to look contemporary and stylish but fails at cheesy and trying too hard. Staff were really unhelpful. Breakfast consisted of a poor selection of deli food.

Reserved rooms through Hotwire, called the hotel immediately after to verify the room size. We were told that both would be queen beds. When we arrived, only one room was ready, so they gave us an "identical" room on another floor. The room was so small that my wife and I could not pass each other when walking around the bed. No closet, nowhere to hang clothing. No drawers in the night stand. And the bed was a double, not a queen.

Didn't bother to complain to the desk, since we didn't plan to spend much time in the room, however our travel companions had a larger room, with a queen bed, a desk and chair.

Can't beat the location, but wouldn't stay again.

We stayed here for 5 nights and the place was great. Situated on w57th street means v easy access to Central Park and time square... Like 5 mins walk. The tube is just one block down and this quickly moves you anywhere is manhattan at a v cheap price. The hotel staff are helpful and v friendly. The room was comfortable clean and quiet. Next door is the three monkeys a great bar with friendly staff and sports.... I cannot fault hotel as the location is just amazing and it's clean cheap and modern.... I would stay here again anytime

This hotel is in an excellent location and for that reason we stayed there two different times. The first time we made arrangements through Priceline and had an excellent price. We left Manhattan for the weekend and returned on Sunday night. This time we made arrangements through Hotel Tonight (great app!). We requested to be upgraded to a king size room because we paid for a king size room the first time, but stayed in a room with two doubles. The king size room did not have a closet, or anywher else to hang clothes, nor did it have an iron or ironing board. I recommend staying in a room with double beds - the rooms are much larger and have standard amenities. All of that said, I would stay again...you can't beat the location!

Room Tip: Stay in a double bed room.

Before I get started, if you go to the Ameritania, just ask for Jeff. He will be able to help you and solve whatever problem you might have. As long as you have Jeff, then he will take care of everything, and you will not have to proceed with caution.

okay. so back to the regularly scheduled review. We booked though priceline, and were thrilled with the rate and location of the hotel. Its right next to the late show with David Letterman, and right around the corner from Times Square and carnegie deli. However, when we arrived we were given the smallest room know to man with a teeny tiny bed and an even smaller bathroom. I am not exaggerating, It was smaller than my college dorm room, and there was only room for a bed.

Thankfully, we found Jeff! Jeff understood our issue. Two average sized humans in a room designed for a small child. And he called the front desk. 30 seconds later we were brought to a different floor and placed into a room that was large enough for two average sized humans plus their luggage. Jeff also helped us get our luggage up, made sure that we got a car to get us to the hotel at the end of the trip and made sure we were overall well taken care of.

Other thoughts on the hotel. It is very european. If you've stayed at a smaller hotel in europe lately you will understand. The A/C / Lights only work when the key is in a special slot, the decor is moden and a little uncomfortable. But bear in mind, you're in NYC. You arent living here, you are sleeping here.

THe bedding was very comfortable. the rooms were dark and it was quiet-ish at night. Wake up, and there is a Sbux across the street.

Overall, great location, but it would have been a disaster without Jeff.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with two beds. preferably on the corner.

I stayed here recently and loved it! The rooms were a bit on the small side, yes, but they were cozy and perfect for me and my husband. It was our first time there so we had lots, and I mean LOTS, of questions for the staff but each and every one of them were extremely accommodating and full of wonderful advice. I'm already looking forward to staying here again on my next New York vacation and I've recommended it to all my friends for their next New York trip as well.
