“Fantastic cocktails'”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2013

I stayed at the Manhattan from 7th Nov to the 11th Nov with 2 friends. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Couldn't fault the location, within easy walking distance of Central Park, Times Square, Carnegie Hall etc. I have to commend Michael who served fantastic cocktails in the Cocktail bar, was so attentive and made our stay so enjoyable. Would recommend this hotel to friends.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the rooms which have been recently refurbished.

We stayed at the Manhattan Club for 7 days - courtesy of a timeshare exchange. First impressions were good - friendly, efficient and helpful staff, and our suite was great having a bedroom with a 6 foot bed!! a lounge area with sofa bed and kitchen area, two big bathrooms and plenty of storage space. Housekeeping cleaned the suite every day. Business centre well equipped with PC's and printer. Useful for checking emails, facebook and printing return flight boarding passes. Although I didn't use the fitness centre I did peep in and it seemed to have plenty of good quality equipment.
The location is excellent, just 3 blocks from Central Park, one or two block from subway stations and close the hop on hop bus stops. There are delis, cafes and diners on almost every corner so we were never stuck for a place to eat. Our favourite places were The Park Cafe, Brasserie Cognac, Cosmic Cafe and The Metro.
Before travelling we bought a 7 day New York City Pass which included 3 days unlimited hop on hop off bus travel so were able to get around easily and see lots of attractions and experiences.TIP - If you buy these passes online the prices are cheaper than buying them in person.
We had a wonderful time in NYC and plan to return again soon - hopefully to the Manhattan Club :)

Room Tip: Our room 1802 and faced the well of building - plus point is absolutely no traffic noise, downside i...

The location would be hard to beat, a short distance from Times Square and an even shorter distance to Central Park. Convenient for anything in the mid-town area.

Stayed two nights and had a very nice Jr. Suite on the 20th floor. The room had been recently renovated and was in excellent condition, large, clean, and bright. It had a sofa, table with two chairs, flat screen TV, and a radio/CD player. The kitchen area was well appointed with refrigerator, coffee maker with coffee, microwave, sink, and utensils. There were two small closets with a safe in one. The bathroom was of adequate size, well lit, with toiletries. Although some noise could be heard from the street, it was minimal and caused no problem.

The staff we had dealings with were friendly and helpful. There is an onsite concierge but we did use that service. The hotel has a lounge on the 26th floor that is open in the evenings. Drinks are expensive, particularly wine. The best deal appears to be mixed drinks which are poured free hand and generously. The breakfast buffet is limited to pastries, bagels, cereal, fruit and beverages at a cost of $15. A gratuity is added to the bill for both the lounge and buffet. There are a number of establishments in the immediate area where you can get a full breakfast for about the same cost.

We booked a 1-Bedroom suite for 2 couples on timeshare exchange for 4 nights in early September and were thrilled both with the location and with the standard of accommodation. The 2 bathrooms gave us privacy and there was plenty of space for 4 adults to stretch out. The only downside was a somewhat hard and uncomfortable fold-out sofa bed.

Everything was available within a short walk of the hotel and we made good use of a 3-day New York Pass with Hop-on Hop-off bus. We will definitely stay at the MH next time we visit New York.

There are many positives in regard to this hotel and timeshare but perhaps the best is the location on West 56th and 7th Ave. in the heart of Manhattan, close to Central Park, Carnegie Hall, subway stations, numerous attractions, and, restaurants. The facility shares the vintage building that also houses the Park Central Hotel. While the Park Central has completed extensive renovation, this part of the building is still a work in progress. Some negatives are the size of rooms, the lack of effective air conditioning or heat, no on site convenience market, and, slow elevator service. Only two small passenger elevators serve 26 floors along with two freight elevators so service can take time especially at busy times of day. The HVAC system is centrally controlled which means whatever is picked for a given day is what is available. Some days you get only heat and some days you get only cooling. Some mild days the system is in “neutral” which means no heat or cool air. You can open a window part way and get a fan from housekeeping if one is available. The rooms are small converted hotel rooms with cabinets, dishes, a microwave, dishwasher and a small refrigerator. Bedding was comfortable and our room was clean and in good order. There is not full sound insulation from neighbors or hallways. Some rooms have been expanded to offer a partitioned sleeping room and a second bath but with the same kitchenette arrangement. Although any of the rooms sleep four, there is little real privacy. TV’s are small HD flat screen sets with good channel selection. There is a nice exercise room and a sizeable lounge on the 26th floor. A business center offers computers and a printer. In room Wi Fi is available but the system has issues and frequently kicks users off for no apparent reason requiring a repeat of the log in process. Maid service is offered every day. These services are offered based on an add-on resort fee which can be as much as thirty dollars per day. Parking is separate. Staff was friendly, offering their greetings and help with local information or directions. Taken altogether we would stay here again. New York is a lively environment with lots to do and this location will meet the needs of visitors who wish to be in the heart of the Big Apple.

Room Tip: An end room might offer better views. We were here on a timeshare trade and learned that some rooms...

We were in a one bedroom suite fo 7 nights. The location cannot be beat!! The staff is courteous, especialy Anthony and Concierge is very helpful. The units are in the process of being done over, some have a new look to them, but not all. We love our annual trip to the Big Apple and look forward to our time at the Manhattan club

First the positives--We had a one bedroom suite for 3 nights. There were four of us, so two were on the pull out couch. Our room had two bathrooms which was very nice with four people. When traveling with four people, It would be nice if there was the option to have two beds in the bedroom instead of only a king bed. I was told that there are no rooms with two beds in the bedroom which is limiting to families. The staff that we encountered was friendly and helpful. The location is great. It is only a short walk to Fifth Avenue shopping and to Carnegie Hall, Carnegie Deli and Central Park.

The negatives- for an all suite hotel, the rooms are oddly shaped. The living room furniture was therefore tightly arranged and closets were oddly placed leaving little room for the two people in the living room to place their belongings. The room we were in was in need of a refresh. The carpet was tattered and the couch worn.

My biggest issue is with the breakfast that is served on the 26th floor. The cost is $14.95 per person for a continental breakfast. I know it's NYC and everything is expensive there, but I thought the was too much for what was available. The items were mostly fresh and nicely presented. Fruit, breads, cereal and juice that's it. It is nice not to have to go to a restaurant for breakfast, but with that price, a restaurant is cheaper. So we went around the corner to the Carnegie Deli one morning and had a great breakfast that consisted of more than bread for a lot less.
