We stayed here in June 2013 and upon arrival we got our room upgraded to a suite. The nice lady at reception said they had a suite available for the duration of our stay and that was their reason. All the staff were very helpful throughout! Our bags were delayed by our airline and the hotel did everything they could to help. Our room was very clean, no complaints. Best thing about the hotel is the location. Right bang in the centre and walking distance to central park and times square. Lastly very good value compared to NYC hotels.

We stayed at the wellington in May 2013. The location was first rate. Close to everything we wanted to see. It was a little bit dated and could really do with updating. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. As it was very central it was very noisy at night and we hardly slept for the 3 nights we were there. But even so we still enjoyed our stay.

Went with my boyfriend on Valentines day of 2013. Got the room for about 80 dollars that night. Wasn't too far a walk from times square, and was very convenient to the train (then again it IS New York). The morning we checked out, the check-ins were pouring in. The overall service was good, the room was nice and comfortable, and there was a great view of the city life.

Room Tip: If you're a single couple, ask for a one bedroom. They tend to stick you in doubles.

The best feature of this hotel is it's location. Many of the major attractions of Manhattan are within a 15 minute walk be they Broadway theatres, landmarks, dining, shopping, banks or subways for trains within Manhattan and beyond . Staff were knowledgeable and available without undue queues at check in and out and at other times when required. Lift waiting times were usually short but on occasion could take a few minutes. The room was warm, quiet, clean, adequate in size but compact and all the electronics worked. However although the décor was charming it looked somewhat dated. Also if staying at this hotel check the bathroom size before confirming as the one in my room was only a little larger than two bathtubs in diameter. This was okay for a small person such as myself but might be awkward for a larger person and especially two large adults. Personally I would not have a problem in choosing the Wellington again.

This hotel is a bit tired but don't let this put you off as it is clean and comfortable and the staff are helpful. I was unsure after I booked this hotel after reading the reviews thought I had made a mistake but it was fine. What do people expect in the heart of Manhattan for the price. The location is brilliant - a subway at the side of the hotel, 5 mins from Times Square and Central Park, it is great for travelling and seeing the sights. I would return to this hotel.

Room Tip: High room is quiet and front of hotel has good views.

Great location and very helpful and friendly staff. The price was great for Midtown and we were upgraded to a suite. Our room was recently updated. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was that the air conditioning unit in the bedroom was incredibly loud.
