This was my second visit to this Hotel. Really clean & central to the park + Times Sq. Close to plenty of subways also. Rooms are very clean & staff are very friendly.

One thing that might be improved upon is the safes down at Reception. A little annoying not to have in room safes as can delay your time getting out to explore. Not a big issue - but maybe something to consider...

I will be back & would recommend to anyone travelling to NYC :)

Loved this hotel, 5 mins left to Times Square and 5 mins right to Central Park,
Lots of resturants all close by you will have alot to choose from, Staff are very helpful.
There is a map at reception with all sight seeing things which is great,
Rooms are a bit tiny but when your in NYC you ll never be in the room, If we ever return we will def stay at this hotel again!

Last time we came to New York we stayed over the road at the Park Central hotel. Book there! We booked the Wellington as we knew a few people who had stayed there before with no complaints including my parents whom on arrival were upgraded to a suite as it was mums 50th birthday. We were there on our honeymoon and cheekily expected similar. We were told we could have a one time upgrade to a king room...this was ridiculous, the bed was huge,so much so there was no floor space for the cases! I spoke to reception and after having a whinge we were upgraded to what I'd usually class as a standard size room. Margaret on reception was very helpful however. The second room was much better.

The hotel was clean but dated, there were some damp patches and broken tiles etc which could be easily fixed. When asking staff for recommendations for restaurants or things to do we were only ever given the 'touristy' advice when we wanted 'real New York'

Knowing that we've had our one time upgrade we won't come back as we know how small king rooms are, let alone standard!

Recently returned from NYC. Our group of four (two rooms) were thoroughly pleased with the hotel. The rooms, location and staff were excellent. It was nice to see such a large and helpful staff available for our comfort. The staff knows how to give excellent customer service. Always a smile and a helpful attitude.

Room Tip: Elevators can be slow at times, so ask for a room on the 3rd floor so you can walk if you're in...

Given a good rate and an excellent location, I could accept the run down condition of the hotel; however, we had a terrible experience and would rate this the worst hotel I've ever stayed at in NYC (and I've spent hundreds of nights in NYC hotel rooms).

After an evening out, we returned to a surprisingly hot room and were unable to get the system to switch to cool so I called the front desk. After waiting over 45 minutes for someone to come and repair the unit we called down and said we wanted to go to bed and cancelled the repair call.

A few hours later, we awoken to the sounds of a rat in the air conditioner unit. This was not the sound of a malfunctioning unit - it was the frantic scratching of a rodent stuck inside. It would stop scratching when we turned on the light and resume a few minutes after the light was turned off.

We checked out early after reporting our complaint(s).

this hotel was lovely. Good old fashioned courtesy, nothing was too much trouble.
We upgraded to a superior queen double and it was lovely, high floor and a view of central park to die for.
Bed was so comfortable, proper pillows not foam rubbish and the decor was stunning.

Room Tip: high floor , definately recommend an upgrade.

Just got back from 4day break in NY stayed at the wellington hotel with family and friends .
Nice hotel it has some nice decor staff friendly ,on arrival we had three rooms for 8 people one of the rooms the sofa bed didn't work and the bed linen was dirty phoned reception and had to wait 3/4hour for another bed to be put in room as we had just got off a long flight all a bit tired but was ok once sorted .
The hotel is so near everything 5min walk to Central Park and 10mins walk to Times Square ,
If staying in NY for the first time would recommend one of the bus tours as it will give you an idea where everything is we did it on last two days but it would be better at the start
One thing the hotel has Internet but you have to pay for it Starbucks across the road is free you can pick up wifi in a lot of places also no tea of coffee facility's in rooms .
The dinner that is adjacent to the hotel is good for breakfast also the gift shop is good you can get your bus tickets from there too .
We all agreed we loved our stay in NY so much to do it never sleeps all very friendly and felt very safe lots of police about as we where there when the bombs went off in Boston .
Be prepared its very noisy lots of sirens going off all day and night
Can't wait to go back and do the things we couldn't fit in
The Empire State Building is good for photos also the top of the rock (rocker fella centre)but go at night better pictures
There is so much to do you will never fit it all in but take plenty of money lots of shops to spend it and have fun
