“Too convenient a location makes it a must try”

My first trip to NYC. I was travelling with my son and a friend of mine for a movie premiere that was in the Ziegfeld Theatre, which was in easy walking distance from our hotel and the reason I chose to book here originally. To describe the hotel in two words: lovely and historic. And, yes, historic does mean the rooms are small. And our view from the window was of a brick wall. However, on the positive side, we were never in the room (you're just a few short blocks from Times Square!) and we all slept well. No street noises to keep us awake. The staff was VERY helpful. They brought us a rollaway bed when requested and were helpful with directions. There's also a convenient restaurant downstairs that serves real NYC cheesecake. And we had a great time at the CIA museum down a block from Times Square. Also, just a few blocks from that is Jimmy's Pizza, which seemed to be a local place, and served terrific pizza. Our only regret is that we did not get to Central Park, a Broadway show, and other places that are also in easy walking distance, so we're planning another trip to NYC. This hotel will be on the top of our wish list as possible places to stay.

Stayed for 4 nights over Xmas, location was the main draw, which was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful, better than anyone else working Xmas day in NYC. Room we had was big and clean, shower was hot and powerful.

Downside was mainly that the heating system is very very old, needs replacing and doesn't work, and we had constant banging of pipes throughout the stay. When we got an engineer up to look at it he initially didn't believe us, and when he did he had two more calls from reception in 5 minutes from other guests reporting they were cold too. The engineer then bled the radiator and the heating was fine for the rest of the stay

I have not stayed in this hotel but have had to deal with their staff and managers on several occasions and I am very very impressed with the way they treat their guests. They do their best to ensure that your holiday is a great experience and go out of their way to assist you with any issues. In New York, this attitude is a rarity!! Thank you very much and I look forward to staying at your hotel next time I am in New York City.

We normally stay in Manhattan but chose The Wellington due to its closeproximity to Central Park and all Museums. It has cozy rooms - were very clean and the water was suprising hotel with pressure that we haven't seen in nicer hotels. The doormen were exceptionally helpful and polite. There was no need for a taxi as everything was in walking distance and you could walk to your location before you get there in a cab. A restuarant was on site that you could grab a early breakfast. Coffee shops located on every corner and across the street.
The hotel did not have a refrigerator or coffee pot in the room, however a refrigerator was promptly brought to out room when we asked for one.
It was a nice place to stay and I would like to stay there again.

This hotel is great. It's convenient to everything. You feel like you're in the middle of all that could matter and it's clean, rooms more than large enough and I would definitely stay there as again. D Kent in Texas

I have been to new york twice..2009 and 2010, and both times have stayed at the wellington. the first time was 3 nights, the second time was 4 nights stay. This hotel, for me, was perfect. it was clean, the room we had was very spacious and airy, with a double bed, bathroom, dresser, tv and great views of Manhattan. As it is situated on 55th street it was fairly central to all attractions we wanted to visit. In one direction is Central park zoo, fifth avenue shops and the American museum of natural history. The other way is only a 10 minute walk to Times Square/rockerfeller centre, NBC studios, Bubba gump, and Broadway. We crammed a lot in in our 4 days and the Hotel was perfect as under the hotel it had its own restaurant run by a family..open all hours..we had breakfast and an evening meal there. It was brilliant value for money (we had salads/sandwiches. full breakfasts/burgers and chicken meals. They served perfect wine/tea/coffee/soft drinks...and the service was second to none. It was a perfect way to start the day before a busy shop..and perfect to finish and unwind to rest aching feet and then an elevator ride upstairs to fall into bed. If/when i go again..i will stay at the Wellington, you cant fault it for value for money on a 3 star hotel.

Room Tip: Definitely have a double deluxe..the room is that bit bigger than a standard double and well worth i...

Ive stayed here a few times and recommend it to friends. The rooms are basic but do the job nicely. Couldnt ask for a better location in NY with central park and Times square within a few blocks walk. Price wize it beats all the hotels in the area
