Flying in from Norway we spent a very nice long weekend at the Bentley Hotel in New York. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated next to the Queensborough bridge, so the traffic noise is notable. Getting a room a bit up is highly recommended.

The rooms were ok value for money, and overall we had a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Get a room high in the building

We enjoyed our recent stay at the Bentley. There were some service issues that were resolved quickly. The staff was quite friendly and eager to address you by name. The ground floor cafe was good for a coffee or glass of wine but that was it. The rooftop bar and restaurant was being renovated so we could not enjoy the great view over glasses of wine as anticipated. We will stay at the Bently more often and look forward to the rooftop amenities in the future.

Room Tip: This hotel is reasonably priced (as Manhattan Hotels go) and is clean and comfortable.

The Bentley was excellent value for money, however despite waiting for half an hour at reception our rooms weren't clean when we checked in - by which I mean empty pizza boxes and alcohol were lying around! Reception didn't actually believe us, but once this got sorted (without an offer to change rooms/ upgrade), things were fine.

Room Tip: Kind of obvious, but the higher floors have a much better view.

I stayed here for 3 nights from 17th - 20th August 2012 with my mum. This was our first visit to New York, and we were advised that this was a great hotel in a prime location.
The location was good - a little too far out from Times Square and the shopping district for my mum who is disabled, but taxis are very easy to come by.
The hotel left a lot to be desired.
We were given a complimentary upgrade to a suite which sounded great, however that's where it stopped.
The mini-bar was non existant, no fridge so the extortionately priced water and out of date snacks were just left on the side. The chamber maid was hopeless - mum had to complain several times to even get the bed made up and towels in the bathroom. Also, the front desk staff were rude and unhelpful - leaving us on hold indefinitely on the phone when ringing to complain, being incredibly rude regarding us asking whether there was meant to be a fridge in our room, taking over an hour to bring a bucket of ice.
The aircon units were so oldfashioned that we couldn't sleep with them on - they were far too noisy and rattly. The windows had single glazing and faced onto a busy street, the resteraunt was undergoing refurbishment and only had a small room in which to have a continental breakfast, and generally was under par.
The only saving grace of the establishment was the concierge staff who were fabulous, and the housekeeping manager who was helpful and kind.
Certainly NOT a hotel we'd ever be going back to.

Room Tip: Just don't choose this hotel!

In NYC with my wife and 7 years old. After midnight AC unit starts making a terrible noise. Rey from front desk promised to send someone, but nobody shows up after 1 hr. @ 2.30am I went downstairs to find out that in fact he never called the technician. It turns out that the compressor is broken and has to be replaced.
Room is inhabitable. Do Not Stay Here!!!! Unfortunately i will be stuck here for another night. Do yourself a favor a find another place. This place is a dump!
