“Central Accommodation in NYC”
Reviewed November 7, 2013

The central location of this small hotel made our brief visit to NYC fantastic as we were able to fit in a number of sights with ease with our seven year old child. Although there were no views per se the rooms were basic but sufficiently appointed, beds comfortable and the main objective of being central was achieved! The Hotel restaurant, french bistro styled casual dining, was great with a huge variety on offer, good service and very friendly. If you are travelling with family it is a great spot walking distance to Central Park, Natural History Museum and so much more!

Room Tip: Didn't matter to us as we were out and about from morning until night!!

Great location a block from the subway, two blocks from the Park in the Upper Westside. Nice hotel. Great staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Room size is pretty good for New York. The place is clean and comfortable. I would return.

This is sort of hotel you no longer expect to find in a prime Manhattan location. All the amenities are there, the staff is knowledgeable, professional and friendly, yet the prices are quite affordable. Quite good food can be had at Nice Matin, the restaurant downstairs--although the wine list is pricey--and, if you know what you're doing, you can even get parking on the street.

Shared a room with 2 double beds with an old friend who met me in NYC. Room size was great, service was helpful, and amenities were good. With the subway 1 block away, it's easy and fast to get just about anywhere in NYC. Extremely nice to be out of the NYC hubbub, too. Barney's and Zabars are both close by for added fun. We plan to meet there once a year!

We have stayed here numerous times since 2001 and enjoy it every time. The location is convenient, being near the subway, and the staff are always great and catching a cab if you need one. 5 or 6 subway lines are within 2 blocks, as is the Natural History Museum and Central Park, as well as the River. Rooms are comfortable with nice size bathrooms, and immaculate. The sidewalk was being redone, but we did not hear any noise. We like the idea you can walk to places, Broadway or Amsterdam Avenue to shop and/or eat. Many fine places to choose from, just step out the door, but
our favorite is Nice Matin, right next to the hotel , nice touch with 15% off for breakfast with check in coupons.

Room Tip: We like a room that is high up, nice views and no street noise. The suites are nice, and some have...

This was our second time staying at the Lucerne. It's a comfortable, quiet hotel, very clean and the staff is efficient and friendly. Great location, within walking distance to the Museum of Natural History. There are lots of good restaurants nearby. Sarabeth's on Amsterdam is a favorite of ours. We highly recommend the Lucerne and its restaurant, Nice Matin.
