Booked this for myself and husband for 5 nights. Loved it! Excellent service, comfortable rooms and great location.
Walking distance from Central Park and lots of eating venues in the neighbourhood. Also a metro on the corner.

We stayed in this hotel for a fall weekend getaway to NYC. Ideal location - close to everything interesting including the Museum of Natural History. We had a deluxe queen room - very large for NYC, beautifully appointed. No noise at all from the street. Staff was very friendly and concierge was super helpful. An expensive place but what else would you expect in NYC.

This hotel is superbly located. There are so many really good restaurants within a 2 minute walk of the hotel. The hotel offers breakfast in a cafe next door but that was not impressive. It is much better to walk a block or two and run into some amazing restaurants. For jogging or walking in Central Park it is an easy 3 blocks to the park. I would stay here again and again just for the location. The staff was fine. The room was fine. It was a bit dark and did not have any mirror except in the bathroom which is a pain if you are sharing a room because if the bathroom is in use you can't use another mirror to put on your makeup or brush your hair. The bathroom was really teeny but serviceable. The room had a little sitting room separate from the beds which was really helpful! (especially when sharing the room with another person). There was also a microwave and small fridge and two shops across the streetsthat sold food so you could make meals, have food in your room. The bedspreads were polyester which I dislike greatly but once getting them off the bed, the sheets and blankets were cotton and comfortable. The bathroom had a ton of street noise and sounded like the window was open (though it was not) BUT there was no traffic noise in the bedroom! The fitness room was quite nice with a lot of equipment. The doorman was so nice, he actually gave me his bus pass to use because I didn't have a pass and told me to just bring it back at the end of the day. Soooooo kind and generous! I gave him a big tip. The concierge was fine though not extraordinary in her knowledge. She was especially NOT helpful around restaurants. She was helpful with transportation to and from the airport though. The room was clean. All in all, I would definitely make a return visit to this hotel. Though not extraordinary it is solidly nice.

Room Tip: the higher the better to avoid street noise.

This hotel is in a great location, the staff at front desk and ever-present doormen very helpful. The rooms were a little noisy, but well equipped & clean. Free wi-fi a bonus, no mini-bar, small gym, nice restaurant attached with decent well-priced breakfast, close enough to Central Park if you feel like a run!

We stayed here as part of the marathon running group and enjoyed the older style
We stayed in a suite and appreciated the extra space. Bathroom was small for a suite and could do with a makeover.
The restaurant next door was great for breakfast and is highly recommended . As is Al Dente across the road for excellent Italian.

From doorman to housekeeping, everyone was friendly and helpful. The room was well supplied, even with umbrella and flashlight. We were there during Hurricane Sandy, and staff stayed in the hotel so service was continued. There was a complimentary wine and cheese on a couple of afternoons. The metro is just a block away on Broadway, and the hotel is located mid way up Central park, close to the Natural History museum. After the storm we walked to TIme's Square,(there was no metro after the hurricane), it took an hour. Easy walking to to Lincoln centre. Revolving shower head with great water pressure, nice tub and bubble bath. Fluffy towels, and comfortable beds/pillows. No excess street noise noted, but traffic was reduced. The neighborhood has a variety of local restaurants.
