My wife and I just completed a 9-day stay in NYC at this apartment. The apartment is comfortable, provided us with a place to crash each evening after a full day of activities. The location is the best, such close proximity to Central Park, an easy walk to the Met, and other wonderful museums north on 5th Avenue. We loved the neighborhood, finding essentially all we needed within a few blocks of walking. After your arrival, I suggest your first order of business is to just conduct a short walk about the apartment's neighborhood. You'll find a subway stop 2 blocks away, a great bagel shop seconds away on the corner, a grocery store across the street from there, and other bakeries and eateries close by. We found an excellent place to dine and celebrate our anniversary a few blocks away.
Yankee Stadium is a very short subway ride north. At this same subway stop you can catch an express train that'll have you at the Wall Street stop within 20-25 minutes. So, although you're a ways up on the Upper East Side, you're in easy reach of so much. We saw two Broadway shows in the Times Square area which put us on the street to return around 11-11:30pm. Just get to 42nd Street, drop down into the subway network, take a shuttle train from there to Grand Central Station, catch an express going north, and you're back to the apartment in 15 minutes.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would gladly return here on our next trip to NYC.
