This Hotel is everything you imagined it to be - elegant & timeless. I choose it as it was a Hotel I always wanted to stay in but also it is in an exremely good location - buses, shops & walks to some of the must see locations. Lots of good priced cafes/restaurants nearby. The Hotel staff were very helpful & room service was very good - we ordered food to the room once & it arrived just like you'd expect with white cloths & silver trays. This was a 5 night stay & it definately lived up to my expectations. Along with staying here & all the usual sightseeing in New York - the highlight has to be going up 'The Top of the Rock" the views are amazing & a must to do. The Waldorf is very classy & I love the fact that I can say I stayed there !!!!!

I went to a convention there so I spent lot's of time there. It is an historical hotel very well located. Service is exceptional and rooms are big and comfortable.
Very expensive to eat and drink but that must be something you would have to expect.

A conference put me in the W=A for a week. The location is spectacular, the Hotel conference amenities are world class. The biggest complaint is with the rooms. And I do imply the plural as I saw and confirmed with colleagues to be sure that my experience wasn't unique.

The wallpaper is peeling, lights burnt out, the carpet is stained, the fixtures do not work properly. I do appreciate that the facility is old and I would hate to suggest that it be gutted and turned into something that is like every other new hotel, but the basic maintenance and care for the building is just lacking in every regard.

Room Tip: Ask for a CLEAN room in the event that there is one available.

Ideally located for a long weekend in Manhattan, one can walk everywhere in the city from here.

We managed to get a fantastically cheap deal via British airways for my wife and I and our three school age children, two adjoining room with en suites on the third floor - US$200 night for five of us!

Avoided spending a cent in the hotel: breakfast bought from Grand Central and lunched and dined out.

The art deco architecture and the clock in the foyer are fun and the history ozzes out of ever pore!

Room Tip: Avoid all peripherals and extras!

What a doll! She makes the extra effort to ensure that we have a great stay. I've seen her run herself ragged to treat her guests like VIPs. Love her, always look forward to her warm greeting. Feels like coming home when back in NYC

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Waldorf Astoria for 5 nights while in NYC for her 30th birthday. The room was a nice size and clean. The room service was very quick and paid attention to detail. There were really no complaints regarding The Walfdorf. Walk two blocks to Essa bagels in the morning or 1 black to Noir For an evening nightcap. The price is comparable with The Intercontinental Hotel and the Marriott. Book with confidence.

Room Tip: I recommend staying on the highest floor possible since the outdoor noise can be quite distracting...

I stayed here with my boyfriend and parents, everything ran smoothly and staff covered things seamlessly. We requested rooms located on the same floor, which was accommodated and when two rooms became available across the floor from each other literally five minutes later the receptionist changed our rooms and redirected the bell boys with no trouble.

The hotel is in a fantastic location and as we did a lot of touristy trips it was great that the Waldorf is a key pick up point!

I did find the decor to be quite dated but that is just personal taste, it was a little too grand for me! Great place for a base to see New York.

No wifi in rooms though which I felt was a little dated now.
