To be right behind Barneys on Madison Avenue is already a bonus, the staff of this lovely remodeled NY landmark made our stay a real treat. This is one of two hotels in NY that still have elevator operators..The location of the hotel is away from the madness of heavy traffic, yet so convenient to all the Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue shops. Central Park is right across the street and we had a lovely time just walking into the beautiful park and over to the boating area to take in the Manhattan experience. The rooms are spacious and very well decorated and we did not hear any traffic noises from our room. We had a room with twin beds and compared to other NY luxury hotels, the rate was very reasonable. Will definitely go back again to this gem.

An iconic hotel at an amazing location. The lobby is nothing exciting; a little dead, dim and quiet.
Tried a couple of rooms and finally got upgraded with a higher rate to a room with an amazing view of the central park and the east side.
The in room dining was expensive but very exciting Indian cuisine choices.

Room Tip: Request upgrade to high floor park view

Dear rezzman,

We thank you for staying with us, and allowing us the opportunity to give you the Taj experience. Our centralized location is always a guest favorite, and we are happy that you agree.

Being that we are a historic hotel rather than a new build, each of our rooms enjoys a unique layout. We are glad that you found a room that met your expectations.

Our in room dining menu offers many Indian cuisine choices, and we hope that you had the opportunity to taste them. Executive Chef Ashfer would be thrilled to hear that you did.

We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future and hosting you during your next stay in NYC.

Warm Regards,
The Pierre General Manager

We enjoyed everything about out stay at the Pierre. It's everything you would expect of old world elegance. The beds are sumptuous and plush and a good nights sleep is guaranteed. The staff is extremely helpful, gracious and pleasant. We did not have a view but had a good package for three nights so it was hard to complain. Walk out the door and Central Park beckons. We took a 50 minute handsome cab ride and enjoyed every minute.

My best NYC hotel experience was staying at the Pierre. The staff greets you from check-in right up to the operators of the tended elevators. The history and ambiance of the hotel pervades the enitre experience. Truly a classic hotel in the grand style. I was especially fond of the nightly turn down service which included a fresh supply of ice in the bucket. The welcome platter of fruit in the room was fresh and delicious as if the chef had insured the quality of what was being sent to the rooms. Having left an item behind in the room, I called the hotel when I got home and security quickly arranged to send it to me FedEx.

What a delight it was to stay on this hotel. Beats any 5 star experience in NY. They are polite , service oriented and even the bell boy does not overtly ask for tips. Great taj experience end to end ... Stayed at many top hotels but this was a delight

The Pierre has a long tradition for excellent in hospitality in New York and it certainly lives up to its name. First of all its location is amazing, in the center in the city and just across from Central Park. The view from the rooms is stunning. The hotel itself is very impressive with beautifully decorated rooms and luxurious bathrooms. The service is excellent and overall this makes it one of the top choices for hotels in NYC.
