If there is one difficult aspect about The Lowell, it is that given what a beautiful, warm and inviting hotel it continues to be, it is hard to leave it for just a few hours to participate in the activities you have scheduled during your visit to New York City.

Visited March 2019 for afternoon tea. Location close to Central park on E63rd. Tea lounge had good atmosphere. Both waiters efficient and knowledgeable. Speciality tea, sandwiches, and scones all excellent.

Very pleasant experience, would like to stay at hotel one day.

This hotel is classic. I've stayed here 4 or 5 times. It's in a very busy area, near the park, but jussst far enough away that it feels quiet. They just redid both of their restaurants, the second I think is a "tea room" and I always respect an old fashioned hotel that's willing to keep up with the times. There's a fine line between traditional and archaic, and the Lowell feels like old school New York vibes with nuanced attention to the current times. The rooms are really nice, especially the suites(duh but like REALLY nice.) Narcisso and Jean Marc, the concierges, are great guys and easy to deal with/communicate with. Sometimes at fancy hotels I feel ashamed asking the concierges questions and have to give myself a 10 minute peptalk to feel important enough to get my way lol. Not the case at the Lowell. You'll feel welcomed. It's the type of hotel where super wealthy people will stay for a couple months, cuz it simply feels like home.

Room tip: book in advance if you can, they sell out pretty regularly.
