I stayed at the Surrey for the 5ht time last week. Again the room was very nice, very clean and quiet. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed at my visit this time. The service at the Front Desk was not as good as the years before. I found them not as friendly, welcoming and helpful as in the years before. At the day of my departure I asked for a late checkout due to a nigh flight back to Europe. I could prolongate until 1.p.m. and for a prolongation until 3. p.m. they asked 700$ from me!!! (Half-day rate). Me and my family come to the Surrey, every time we are in New York and for the clients from Europe it is quite important to have a possibility to stay longer in the room because of the late flights. 700$ for 2hours? Ar e you kidding? The hotel is quite expensive (and I know of what I speak, I am from Switzerland..).
Besides this event, I was really happy with my stay, I like the interior, the beds, the rooms, the food and the roof terrace, which is beautiful. More
