Just a few minutes walk from Times Square and the Empire State building, bang opposite Penn Station/Maddison Square Garden on the corner of 7th Avenue/West 31 st,this is an ideal hotel. Our party of six were booked in for four nights into three doubles.
Very friendly and helpful reception staff, beautiful art deco lobby which featured in the Catherine Zeta Jones movie "The Rebound".Our room had lovely sitting area..see photograph plus small kitchen !The only slight downside was the 7AM church bell (west 31 st side),but it was all in agood cause..the daily handouts to the NYC homeless.
The 5 o clock free wine in the lobby was a nice touch and there is a great hotel bar,the barmen obligingly restocked our ice bucket for G&Ts in the room, pre dinner! The bar was also a welcome place to end the day around midnight !
We didn't eat there choosing instead to discover more NYC delights.
Hopefull we will return.Thankyou Manhattan Affinia !

Room Tip: If you don't want to wake up before 7AM,avoid West 31 st side !

Staff was pleasant, and room was good size, although bathroom had strange layout and no place to hang a towel. Room temp was way too hot, air was very dry, and made it very uncomfortable for sleeping. Thus would not return.

I was on vacation in New York during the month of October of 2013. It is on 7yh avenue, in walking distance of many places to see. The rooms were not as large as I expected. There were three in my room and it was extremely crowded. Not what I was expecting. The hallways to the room, could use an update. Close by are serveral inviting places to dine, for coffee, and of course DONUTS. The staff and concierge were helpful, with the exception that we had to carry our luggage. Although, I noticed that some guests were getting their luggage handled by stafff. We were a group of twelve women and one meet us there, which makes thirteen and none of our luggage was handled by their staff. The lobby is nice, but not enough seating for a hotel of its size.

I had a very nice stay. The rooms are very spacious which is unusual for NYC. The only negative, if there is one, is that the bathroom is teenie tiny. I don't think a man could fit into the shower in the room I stayed in. Other than that it was great! The beds are very comfortable, the room is very clean and the hotel staff was great.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a larger bathroom.

Dear Ms. Denise C,

Thank you for reviewing the Affinia Manhattan.

I am so happy you had a great time while staying with us. The Eagles...I'm a little jealous. Now that Madison Square Garden has reopened, we boast the perfect location for concerts and games.

We hope to see you again. Perhaps the next time the Eagles are in town.
