Let me preface this with this was simply an overnight stay in the city from nearby Connecticut. Had it been a long stay, the size of the room may have been an issue. Great location, as I love Soho and there were plenty of restaurants, cafes to visit. Nice staff, young and gorgeous. If you are low on self-esteem, you may want to choose another hotel.

We had a queen room on a high floor, both of which I requested. I asked for an upgrade to a King and she was fine with that, however, she recommended that I stay in the queen room because it was a nicer room with a good view. I did stay and it did have a great view (straight uptown and a perfectly centered Empire State Bldg.). The room is tight, but doable. The bathroom was also tight, but for one night, no problem. A bit dated in the bathroom, but they fixed up so it was cute. Another warning, very little closet space, but again, for one night, no problem. Altogether, nice, small room. We did not eat in the hotel so I cannot comment, nor did we visit the lounge/bar area, but it seemed to generally have a crowd. If you are looking for a good hangout for breakfast, walk down the street to The Cupping Room. It is a pretty local hangout, which I was familiar with prior to my stay.

One negative, the gym. The equipment was not top quality, but again it was doable. there were several people in there and only 2 treadmills and one eliptical, so there was a wait.

We stayed in room 1223, superior Queen and so she was! Mostly for the view, over the rooftops and the water tanks, which is so Rear Window and New York to me. I also liked the raised bed (grand) and the small touches of decor, like the art deco luggage rack towel rail in the bathroom (grand) and the mirrored cupboard doors and the contemporary but retro furniture (grand). We were given a glass of sparkling rose on arrival at check-in (grand) and Jesse, who brought us our luggage, gave us lots of tips for local eateries and also for 2 complementary drinks at the bar (grand) The Club Room food served perfect and quite up market bar food (grand) and though the music was too loud too early on, (whilst trying to catch up with old friends,) the barman turned it down when asked (grand) Breakfast was huge and delicious in the wonderful hall space which has the feel of an old-fashioned Grand Hotel (grand) My only quibble, and this may be a US quirk, is that there was no kettle in the room for making a cup of tea or coffee in the morning, but that's probably because in the old days, you ordered room service! (grand) If you want to treat someone to a very special hotel in NYC, this one is it.

We are in the middle of an 11 night stay at the Soho Grand. The location, staff, rooms, service, food and cocktails are absolutely fantastic and I wouldn't look to stay anywhere else in NYC. 10 out of 10 ...well done to all the staff at the Soho Grand ! Thanks for making our trip so memorable !

My husband and I stayed for one night to celebrate my 50th birthday. The hotel has a "Soho" feel to it. The staff was very nice and helpful. We were served champagne when we checked in. Our room was a standard room with nice finishes--smaller but in line with NYC standard size rooms. We did not have a chance to eat or hang at the hotel bar but the new whiskey bar does look cool. The hotel location is great as it is near the Soho shops and restaurants. It is also close to Tribecca and Greenwich Village

Stayed in a Superior King room, which was a good size. Very clean, made up well every day. However the hotel fell down on a couple of things. Breakfast is very poor value. Try nearby cafes for better quality and price. Tables crammed together and was taken in the bar and lobby area which isn't ideal. Room air con was difficult to manage-so room was stuffy most of the time. Lastly safe broke down. Really not a problem, but maintenence guy came up, fixed it and offered a bottle of champagne (we were delighted, but had not caused any fuss). Anyway it didn't turn up!

I was treated to a stay at this hotel for my 40th birthday and it was just perfect, the location meant it was easy walking distance to all the sights and the hotel staff were very helpful, particularly the concierge girls and all staff were very pleasant. The bar in the hotel is really cool and plays great music. We loved our stay and would definitely go there again.

Great location. Lounge is comfortable and club room is a good late night stop.. Poorly lit public spaces are definitely ready to be refreshed. Very small room. Terribly inconveniently located electrical sockets - who ever knew that could even be a problem ??? Excellent Rittenhouse Rye Manhattan. Good hotel to congregate out of town friends for a comfy weekend. Recommend.
