“Typically (downtown) 'New York' in attitude and style”
Reviewed May 9, 2012

Overall very good stay. The hotel is in a great neighborhood and the lobby area is striking / original. The rooms are something of a let down after the cool lobby (smallish, rather drab etc) but they actually grown on you and feel cosy after a while and the bathroom, while tiny, was actually kind of quait and comfortable to use. Service is quietly efficient and overall friendly although perhaps lacking warmth and sincerity (this is not the place where the front door staff will give you a warm welcome and make you feel at home). In some ways, all very typically New York in attitude and style!

We stayed at the Hilton Inn Manhattan - Soho this past weekend (family of 4), and were very impressed with everything. Considering some of the reviews we read on other hotels in the area, we weren't sure on what to expect, but we were plesantly surprised. The checkin staff and breakfast staff were extremely nice and helpful. The rooms were very clean, and bedding very comfortable! We got a good nights sleep every night as it was very quiet from any hotel and outside noises. They have a nice rooftop terrance with great views as well. The breakfast was wonderful...a lot of food, and delicious. The hotel is close to Battery Park (beautiful walk with nice playgrounds for the kids), Statute of Liberty, 9/11 Memorial, and so much more. We plan to return to NYC in the fall, and we would definately stay at this hotel again. Reasonably prices for what you get.

The Soho Grand has matured along with its clientele. The décor is Steam-Punk, post-industrial luxe. But the hip sylphs who glide the dark halls, hover over reception and open the door in their shades of black and grey are ... nice to you. They smile. It's disorienting at first, but the SoHo Grand is solidly in the mainstream of international luxury. The neighborhood has a refreshing intimacy.

Stayed at the Soho Grand in March on the recommendation of a friend and from getting out the taxi the great experience started. Extremely friendly staff (not the usual Fake friendliness you encounter in other places). Hot towell and a glass of bubbly at checkin can't be beaten. I've stayed at numerous hotels in NYC and this is by far the best. Room was larger than average, very quiet at the back and clean. Bar is fabulous too.... I had a few problems with a light flickering and it was sorted within minutes, reception and doormen were very helpful and friendly. I gave them feedback via a survey and they contacted me immediately with my comments on how to improve (it was a minor point on a brunch suggestion) and offered me free breakfast next time I stay! Would recommend this hotel to everyone I know!

We have stayed at the Soho Grand a couple times a year for several years. Its not your usual stuffy uptown facility. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. They always seem to go out of the way to make it just a little special for us. The doormen always remember us and are so cheerful even in cold NYC weather. Most of the people who work, and stay, there are young enough to be our kids, but they always accept us, no questions asked. And it is the middle of more restaurants then you could imagine, its NYC!

I was in NY for my job and booked Graqnd Soho... Efter one night of listening to all the sirens from the police cars and ambulances I asked to be moved to a more silent room. BUT THERE IS NO!
They moved me to another room but it wass even worse. The hotel has a nice lobby but thats all.

I recently stayed at the fabulous Soho Grand Hotel, it is by far "THE" best hotel in New York city. My room was so relaxing and spacicious, comfort galore. The staff is extremely gracious and most welcoming on every arrival & departure. Step off the elevator to the lobby and you feel as though you have entered the most elegant and exquisite designed room it is so inviting. Relax in beautifully decorated spacious lobby for breakfast or cocktails the environment is devine...the music selection was very enchanting it makes one not want to leave. The location of the Soho Grand is an easy to walk to fabulous shopping & restaurants and beautiful architecture in the surrounding area to bestow your eyes upon.
