We stayed here for 6 nights and just loved it! The service was outstanding, the room was spacious, with plenty of closet space. the bathroom was small but sufficient and the attention to detail was very good. the free sodas and water was an added and much appreciated bonus. The air system is rather noisy but necessary! we had a great view overlooking the Apple store and plaza down 5th avenue which added to the experience. Would definately stay here again.

Room tip: Try to have a room with a view. Costs more but adds to the experience.

Both my husband and I regard our stay at The Sherry Netherlands as the best experience in any hotel that we have ever stayed in so far. From the moment we were warmly greeted by the wonderful, friendly doorman, we felt as though we were being welcomed home. All staff at the Sherry were so helpful and such a delight that it has left us with a longing to return. Our room was a court yard view room and it was so beautiful, it was a joy to return each evening to relax and totally unwind from the busy days of touring the city.Nothing was too much trouble for all the staff making our stay seemeffortless.
The location of the hotel could not be beaten, right on central park. And a trip to a Broardway show was just a quick taxi away which was obtained by the great door man.

My husband and I do not expect much from New York Hotels, chain or stand alone operations. But our 6 night stay at The Sherry Netherlands Hotel convinced us that indeed there is still that real hotelier service that exist in New York . From the doorman, concierge, front desk, lift operators and housekeeping......service was unobtrusive and impeccable. This is the first time I enjoyed a hotel in NYC. We had real value for money...unlimited still and fizz water and a selection of soda were part of the amenities. We also did not feel like we had to keep giving tips,...which all the more we felt happy giving a bit extra for the service staff. Harry Cipriani also had good food and good service. Kudos to the team who are friendly and professional!

Room tip: It would have been awesome to have had a room facing Central Park. it the courtyard room we had was quiet. E hotel was a sanctuary after coming from busy and madding noise of fifth ave.

We have just returned from a 5 day trip to New York and our expectations were exceeded in every way, especially the accommodations. The Sherry Netherland is a small boutique hotel, but the service, location, staff, cleanliness are all outstanding. Foot steps away from Central Park, the Subway and 5th Avenue shopping, the Hotel is an ideal home away from home. The staff were incredibly helpful, accommodating and we felt like royalty - we highly recommend this hotel, and sincerely hope we have an opportunity to stay here again!

Room tip: We booked on Expedia, check their discounts in the spring, the price was on a huge discount making this upscale hotel very affordable. There is also a beverage centre in the room with no costs for coffee, tea and water, restocked each day. The proximity to everything is the real bonus of the hotel - i.e. subway, Park, shopping, Time Square, etc.

So I strayed from the Sherry to another hotel on the advice of good friends. When we booked the hotel (The Westin) we needed 2 rooms and booked them over the phone. When we showed up they said they had booked the rooms for Sunday night not tonight a Saturday. What a shock we all had. We had to be at a dinner reservation in 1 hour and a graduation party directly after! So we called the Sherry Netherland and they got us in no problem! Having seen our friends room we were happy for the mix up! Our room was spacious, overlooking Central Park, greeted by our hand written welcome card, fresh flowers and a box of Godiva chocolates...this is standard for their hotel! I just love it! It feels like you get to a dear friends (who happens to be very wealthy and has fabulous taste) and they have gone for the night but leave their place to you...is it the hand written welcome card? I don't know if it is one thing or the culmination of all the fantastic things being exactly the same each and every time...love, love, love it!

Room tip: Corner suite over looking Central Park and 5th Ave, you may pay extra but so worth it! Get there on time for check-in so you have plenty of time to enjoy the suite.
