“Super Hotel Nice View”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

went to meet family here from Florida. had a great view in a spotless luxuriously appointed room. Help was friendly and very accomodating. easily accessable from the train and within walking distance to everything. Needed a taxi to go across town to other side of the park and doorman had a taxi instantly for us. when we arrived back at 1 am the doorman was there to greet us. Was an excellent stay and reccommend this hotel to any one.

Room Tip: Get a high floor so there is no street noise and you get a great view

I often stay at the W Hotel in Times Square but recently decided to try something else and I was not disappointed. The Renaissance Hotel was terrific and the location could not be better. The hotel is quiet, good size rooms with a comfortable bed and a great breakfast lounge on the lobby floor with a speculation view of Times Square...I will return..

I've been to to New York twice, after staying at the Waldorf I didn't think it would be beaten but the Renaissance Hotel was even better. Beautiful rooms, clean and extremely comfortable and all the staff were not only lovely and friendly but so efficient, they recommended places to eat and places not to be missed.
Obviously staying in Time Square meant you were right in the heart of it and we found some fantastic places to dine and the shopping was to die for!
I would recommend The Renaissance to anyone thinking of visiting good old New York City, I had the holiday of a lifetime and can't wait to go back.
Oh and if you do stay there a visit to Roxys Diner just over the road from the hotel is an absolute must - cheesecake heaven!
This hotel deserves more than 5 stars, an absolute gem!

Great lounge that most new yorkers or tourists know about. Perfect angle on TS and is the catbird seat. Take the ground entrance up to 1 and head left to R Lounge. It is expensive but awesome.

Rooms are clean and a good stay.

Hotel desperately needs a business center, as I had to move the concierge out of his seat to print my boarding pass. Minor but inconvenient.

Omar the Concierge was awesome.. Some other lady who was there on Sunday not so much.

Would def stay here again all considered.

If you stay here take the tour at Rock Center (Rockefeller) it was awesome. Best thing I did her, top of rock/tour is the way to go - you wont regret it.

This hotel was spectacular. The rooms were beautiful and got a great deal on priceline. The staff was lovely, the view was lovely, and the room itself, was lovely.

I had just come from the Millenium Hotel which was TERRIBLE. This hotel was a breath of fresh air. The location? Well, it's PERFECT!

What can I say that already hasn't been said. The perfect location next to mass transit of any kind. Walking distance to anything and everything! Fun, Fun, Fun.....The staff was excellent and Omar was a charm. Help with maps, dinner reservations, directions and suggestions to whatever fancy you are looking for. We went for our 35th anniversary and were treated to champagne and chocolate in our room. The hotel bar overlooks Times Square with the best view of any hotel in NYC. We had an oversized junior suite with a window overlooking Times square and found the room and everything else to be top notch. You won't be disappointed!

Room Tip: If you dont care about a window go for the less expensive rooms but we like the view to plan our day...

This hotel is very close to Times Square and as you walk out of the hotel you are straight into the crowd. When we arrived we were given a room on the 16th floor which smelled of smoke. We called reception who offered to send up a can of air freshener which we rejected and they immediately re-located us to the 10th floor.
The staff in the hotel are very helpful and friendly and the recommendations of the concierge are excellent. The bar area is good and games are provided should you need to pass time waiting for your family to come off line (free wifi in reception only).
Times Square is very noisy and despite the double glazing if you want to get some sleep you would probably be better off asking for one of the rooms on a higher floor than the 10th! It is right that New York is a city that doesn't sleep. On our last two nights (Monday and Tuesday) road works started outside the hotel from just after mid-night until 6.00 a.m. in the morning. The bins are also emptied before 6.00 a.m! The rest of the time it depends on how load the revelers are.
The rooms had a reasonable amount of space and the bathroom standard was good. The decor in the room is a little dated but if you come to New York it is not to spend time in the hotel room!

Room Tip: If you like to sleep the higher the room you can get the better!
