I've been to this bar twice. First time as a couple for cocktails before our night out. Nice drinks, great view of the Times Square lights!

Second time, as a group of 6 for cocktails before evening out. Good drinks, very nice waiter, but we didn't have a reservation so we didn't get seats with a view. We were there too early to see all the lights anyway. Our fault. Live and learn. We'll remember next time. Note: they add gratuity to large groups. We hadn't noticed but our waiter pointed it out to us and actually made us initial the tip so his manager wouldn't think he double-dipped! Now that's a good waiter.

Drink prices are common for NYC.

Great place to see if visiting New York. Great place to go if you live here.

I stayed at The Renaissance in 2009, with my sister and daughter on a tribute trip to my sister who had recently passed away. The location could not be better and the hotel was very nice. The only complaint I would have is, the bathroom door at the time was just a slider. It just didn't seem as private as one would like. We used the other main hotel restrooms sometimes for the privacy and becuase they were very nicely done. I would highly recommend.

We have stayed at almost all the hotels in Times Square, and so far this is the best. The location is unbeatable, in a corner across from the Theater tckts booths in Times Square.
As most of the hotels, there is a small reception at street level, however, you can check in here at this level. Most other hotels, you need to go to an upper lobby. The actual lobby and lounge area is very well appointed. Very nice furnishings, and a small feel, which is nice, given the massive hotels that surround it. The service also benefits from this, and attention to guests is much better.
The lounge has a couple of flatscreen/touchscreen computers, for guests to browse the web for free. There are chess boards to keep you entertained while you sip a drink or wait for someone.
There is a lounge / restaurant that overlooks Times Square, almost at STreet level, that has amazing views. The food is varied, and very good.
The rooms are well appointed, and of good size. They seem relatively new, with flatscreen tvs, and a very comfortable bed. The room has a very nice lighting set up, which allows for different settings, and great for reading in bed. A great improvement from the stinginess in lighting that we are getting used to in some hotels.
The bathrooms are very nice and new, with great walk in showers. The water does find itself to the floor of the bathroom through a gap in the glass wall. The only shortfall may be, the quality of the towels, which does not align with the rest of the amenities and finishes, which are top class.
This is probably the best hotel I have stayed in Times Square out of 5. I like its smallish feel, and uncrowdedness. Very well rounded hotel, and the price is not much different than Crowne Plaza, Double Tree or others next to it, but is far better.

Room Tip: All rooms either face Broadway or 7th. Avenue, so the views are pretty good. Corner rooms to the sou...

Nicely appointed hotel in the middle of Times Square. We stayed on the top floor and it was extremely quiet from the street level noise. The beds were luxurious and the room was clean and upscale. We received very good service, especially from the front desk and the concierge desk. Highly recommend.

I normally stay here or at the Marquis. This is a great location, in the heart of Times Square. Rooms are clean and well appointed with everything that you will need. Service is excellent at checking in and staff is very professional. You need to take a short elevator rode up to main lobby, keeps the noise down. In the morning you have breakfast for members is in the front bar area, best view of Times Square and you can watch everyone hustling off to a day of work. This is not the cheapest, nothing is in this area, but worth the cost.

What a place, right in the centre of Times Square, the staff were excellent and we had a room that overlooked part of the square, we stayed for six nights and had no complaints.

From the reception staff to the concierge to the maid, everyone was friendly and helpful.

We had room 801 and were very happy with this, the room was clean and tidy and we can't wait to get back there soon.

Well equipped fitness suite too.

Room Tip: Try room 801 we had no complaints there!!

Me and my boyfriend spent three nights in this hotel in March 2010. It wasnt the best hotel i have ever stayed in, however saying that, when you weigh it up with its location and price, you get a great hotel. The rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. The location is fab! Right in the centre of times square and only a short walk to most NY attratctions (central park, Bloomingdales etc). the views from the rooms wernt anything special, however the view from the lobby lounge was! beautiful! Would stay here again and have reccomended this hotel to friends and family.
