My husband and I have just returned from a 4 night stay in New York, which was made more enjoyable by our stay at the Renaissance Hotel.

Our check in was speedy and very welcoming.

Our room was spacious, quite and very clean.

The hotel bar definitely had the "wow" factor with its views of Times Square.

All the hotel staff were friendly and accommodating.

I would recommend anyone to stay at the Renaissance - it ticks all the boxes.

I have stayed in this hotel a few times for work. The hotel is right in Times Square and feels very secure. You have to walk in to the second level to access the lobby bar, which is quite nice. The decor of this hotel is very nice, and the rooms are very well-kept. If you work nearby, this is a much better option than the Marriott Marquis.

Let me preface by saying that I had just stayed at the Marquis a month before and was soooo much nicer. The room at the Renaissance was nothing special, the front desk was rude, and the hotel seemed very dirty. If I had stayed here before The Marquis I may have given a higher rating. I would not return here unless I got a good rate. The only good thing is the location.

The hotel is in the Times Square area, real accessible to many locations via walking or subway access. We took the subway pretty much everywhere.

The hotel is a bit run down in spots, but the rooms were comfortable and the bed was nice (king). We had a room on the 17th floor and did not hear the hustle and bustle of Times Square. The only thing you hear is the emergency vehicle sirens - but that is not that common.

For the money you spend for the location however, the room was only average - nothing too special about it. As mentioned, certain spots were run down and it could have been cleaner. The door guys were very helpful.

Would we stay here again - probably not as we would want to try something different
