Stayed here for 5 nights before moving to another hotel with a tour group. Sanctuary Hotel is a great hotel with a truly boutique feel (as opposed to bigger, standard type hotels that lack atmosphere. Ryan, Jimmy and Jacob provided some excellent service but everyone was friendly and genuine. Jacob gave excellent restaurant recommendations. The only average comment is around the breakfast. Breakfast staff were friendly but tended to stand around and chat among themselves more. The room was very quiet - second floor away from the street - a true sanctuary. Rooms closer to the rooftop bar (food was good) might have got some noise overflow though. The bed quality was average. I found it a little uncomfortable. Some finishing work is still needed in the stairs area of the hotel. I'd stay there again.

We stayed at the Sancuary Hotel for 4 days and had a great time. The Hotel itself is very luxurious and has a nice design, the staff is very friendly and helpful and everything was very clean. When coming back after a walk in the city, our room was always tidied up very nicely. Also the location couldn't be any better, it's right between Times Square and Rockefeller center and all the Subway lines are closeby.

The room itself was a bit too small, especially the space for your clothes and luggage. We didn't mind that the shower was in the room and not in a seperate area, it's a different experience. Another small comment is about the breakfast, this was quite limited.

But next to those two remarks, we have no complaints and had a wonderful time at this hotel.

I stayed at the Sanctuary Hotel from October 28 through October 30, 2013. I was pleasantly surprised at check-in to receive an upgraded room to one of the suites (I had booked a King room). The suite was beautiful and spacious, with a large sitting area and 60"+ or - sized TV in the sitting area and a smaller flat screen TV in the bedroom. The bed was very comfortable, with high quality linens. All of the hotel staff I encountered were pleasant and helpful. I would certainly return to the Sanctuary (and hope they give me the complementary upgrade again!).

We have just returned, from a four nigt stay in the Sanctuary Hotel, and we had the best time. The hotel was just off of Times Square, where somehting was always going on.
The hotel was clean and comfortable, we had clean towels everyday. I had a double double room with my two daughters, and the beds were so comfy, we all slept very well. The breakfast was very good even though it was a buffet, with Bagels, eggs and fresh fruit. On one evening we had Dinner at the Haven (Bar and Resturant on the roof) Resturant, and it was delicious. All in All a great hotel, and made our visit to NYC even more enjoyable.Would definatly go back and stay at the Sanctuary.

Room Tip: Try and get a room at the back of the Hotel as there is a lot road maintenance going on at the moment.

We booked the Sanctuary NY for our honeymoon. The people were really nice and we even got a complementary upgrade because of the purpose of our trip.

We had a really nice, spacious room and the noise coming from Times Square was nicely isolated. The overall vibe was very pleasant and had a loungy feel to it.

We also had the chance to dine at Haven, the rooftop restaurant. Great food and lovely service!

All in all we had a lovely stay.
