“Couldn't have been better!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2013

From the moment Julio greeted our travel-weary family outside the door of the hotel and took our luggage from our tired hands, until we said goodbye four days later, our stay was exceptional. The customer service reputation that we read about was all true. The friendly and helpful staff was always available to assist us and ensure we had what we needed and were comfortable the entire time we were at the Sanctuary Hotel. After a long day of sight-seeing, we would return to find that the house-keeping services had done a wonderful job. Our family of five, ages 14 to 50-ish, enjoyed the complimentary breakfast with plenty to choose from and was always well stocked and clean. The location near Times Square was perfect. We've already recommended the Sanctuary to our friends and family, and look forward to a return visit. Thanks Julio and staff!

Great location (though my wallet wishes the hotel was not quite so close to the diamond district :-)). We could walk to many many places (Times Sq, theatre, restaurants, shopping, rockefeller center, etc,). And, I can't say enough positive things about the super helpful, friendly staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our time. Haven, the roof deck, was fun and funky.

It's a nice hotel, with the funky boutique stuff, lighting, bar, and well appointed room but give me a good room in town and I'm fine. The roof terrace is meant to be good here but it was closed the night I was there. Maybe that was it. The location is bang on downtown...depending on where downtown is for you. This is tourist downtown.

What a great experience from the moment we checked in to the moment we left! All the staff were very welcoming and friendly on check in and my sister, who was celebrating her 40th birthday, was delighted to receive a birthday card signed by all the staff. We were also given a complimentary bottle of cava which was a lovely touch. We booked a twin room which was much more spacious than I expected it to be and although we would have liked more drawer space, we were very pleased that there was enough space to store 3 suitcases and hang up our clothes comfortably. The concierge service was great, we didn't need to use it that much as we had already researched and planned our trip carefully but they were always on hand to suggest places to eat and sights to see. The complimentary breakfast was really good, freshly squeezed orange juice, bagels and toast, fresh fruit and yoghurt and danish pastries. The location of the hotel was great, we were in walking distance to times square and the theatre district. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit New York because of the location, fantastic service, ammenities and style. Would definitely stay here again when visiting New York to celebrate my 40th birthday!

Extremely convenient and good location, just minutes to Times Sq and subways. Basic breakfast only but there is one great cafe just opposite with good food and breakfast. Very clean room and house keeping very good. Staff are all very helpful and friendly. Only short coming is just the room is rather small, or you have to request for larger room if any.

Very good service, we had problems with the air conditioning and the staff was very helpful. and after several unsuccessful attempts to repair it, changed us to a similar room. Very small rooms, but they make great use of the limited space. The room faced the street and was noisy at night.
Although they provide daily passes to Equinox Gym, the inconvenience of having to get there is too much and would be the only reason I would not stay there again.

Our expectations were higher given the ranking in NYC hotels. The location is perfect if you are interested in Broadway shows and a variety of restaurants. The room was quite small. While every square inch is ingeniously designed to make best use of the space, I didn't like having the bed right by the door or the shower stall in the room itself. For the money, we have stayed in other city hotels that gave you at least two rooms and a kitchenette. I like the decor however, the lobby and the elevator were dark. It was difficult to read elevator numbers. Breakfast being included is a nice perk. The set up could be designed better to improve the flow of the many patrons and a warm entree would be nice.
