I stayed here for my birthday and I am SO glad I choose this hotel to mark my first time in New York a wonderful experience!!. I would highly recommend this hotel and I am sure you will not be disappointed. I didn't find the elevators/lifts a problem I actually think it works brilliantly. When we arrived we were checked in within 15 minutes. I agree this hotel is busy but it just goes to show its busy because it's the far the best hotel too stay at in Times Square!! I also dined at the View which is located at the top of the hotel on my actual birthday and I was given a window table!! They even arranged for a birthday cake for FREE!!! Cannot thank the staff enough for making my stay so perfect. Will be staying here again for sure!

The rooms are really nice and location is great. But it's covered in construction. It's a huge place and the elevators are snail like. Because of spring break you're only allowed to use the executive lounge with 2 people max. So kid has to stay in room :-( They also charge for alcoholic drinks in the lounge which I guess is normal for US hotels. But they offer a grab n go breakfast on a different level. Not sure if I would stay again. Just too busy and confusing.

Thank you for your review and for staying with us. We do get a high volume of guest that use our elevators during peak times. This usually occurs before Broadway shows and dinner times. In regards to the lounge, we follow the member benefits located on the Marriott Rewards webpage which states that an elite member may be accompanied by one additional guest. Thank you again for your review and look forward to you visiting back in the near future.

This hotel is perfectly located to access most of the sights for New York and the theatre district so for that reason is a good base. It is also very clean and tidy. Disappointments are the size of the hotel which makes it quite impersonal, the bar on the 8th floor gets overcrowded so the service is slow or non existent on one occasion and The View Restaurant is a little run down with staff who argued in front of customers and needed to address the cleanliness of their uniform - it put us off wanting to eat there.

I want to thank Marisa and team (including Jere, Adil and others) for a great meeting in April. They were extremely attentive, the meeting space was spacious and met all our requirements and we were generally very well looked after, even when construction on the road below (no fault of the hotel) threatened to disrupt part of our meeting. The elevator system is slightly quirky but as long as people know how to read it works well :-)

Room Tip: floor 34 was great

Our family of 4 stayed 5 nights in April and really enjoyed ourselves. Although we made our reservation well in advance and re-confirmed it prior to arrival, our reservation was oddly canceled. The hotel was booked to capacity, but somehow, a room turned up. Whew! The staff was great and we especially appreciated the employees in the Business Center-really friendly and very accommodating. The concierge was helpful every time and our room was clean and comfortable. We had to wait quite a while for the elevators most of the time, but everything else was terrific.

Marriott Marquis is located at the Times Square.

We got the 44th Floor room with a view of lifetime. The Hotel itself is amazing with an amazing Elevator system, location, the revolving restaurant (The View), The Rooms were ok.

SERVICE: The Hotel staff seems disinterested in attending to the Guests. Nobody seemed to help us on getting a Taxi or helping us in moving our luggage.

The Grayline and tour Buses leave from the nearby street. Lot of their moving around, so you can easily get hold of the tickets.

Room Tip: High Floor Room with view of Times Square

The location of the hotel is just super. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. We stayed at the 42nd floor so not much noises - not sure about lower floors. Room service was very prompt.
If you do not want to stay in the heart of TImes Square and fight the maddening crowd to get in and out of the hotel, then this is not the hotel for you. Also the line for the elevators can get pretty long during rush hours.
But overall this is an excellent hotel to stay in the heart of Manhattan.

Room Tip: Upper level rooms definitely, the ride in the glass elevators overlooking the lobby is worth the rid...
