“Great View in Bustling Location”
Reviewed March 21, 2012

The Marriott Marquis in right in the heart of Time Square... Walking distance to many attractions, theaters, restaurants, etc. The subway station is a 5 minute walk. It took about 45 minutes by taxi from JFK airport. We had a view room on the 26th floor and it was fantastic! The elevator system is unique and hi-tech, and we never had to wait long. The glass elevators are fun to ride. Check-in occurs on the 8th floor, and the bell hop manages to get your luggage to the room after he takes it from you at ground level. The bar on the 8th floor is pricey; we did not eat at any of the restaurants in the hotel. There is a Starbuck's on ground level. The room was clean and quiet. I would definitely stay here again!!

This has everything what it needs for business travelers.
I would not recommend it that much for holiday makers.
The breakfast was absolutely more than enough and good variety.
Hotel rooms are clean and give just that extra touch for the business traveler.
Location is good to go from there to the places you need to go in the city.
Decoration of the room is fine for a hotel room.

If you want the Times Square experience this is your hotel. Better than average room size for Manhattan. Rooftop bar has fantastic views. Price is very reasonable when you consider it all. My second favorite hotel in town.

We stayed for 3 nights on the 23rd floor and had great views of Times Square. We were in
an updated room and it was clean and comfortable. This has to be the best location in
New York. I definitly would stay here again. The only problem I encountered was my wife
wanted to sleep with the curtains open to see the lights.

Room Tip: Try to get 2338. Great view of Times Square.

I stayed here on the 27th floor for 3 nights. There was a lot to like about this hotel, especially the fantastic location with great views and the oversized (by New York standards) guest rooms. The room was very clean and the staff were all pleasant and helpful. I also liked that there's a Starbucks on the 1st floor--that gives a quick and relatively cheap option for breakfast or coffee. The beds were comfortable and even on St. Patrick's Day there was less street noise than I expected. The room had lots of outlets and things that are helpful for a business traveler.

There are a few downsides. One is the cost, especially when you add in $16/day for internet. And the wireless internet service was spotty, which was annoying. I ended up switching to wired. The physical layout is also a bit odd. The check-in lobby is on the 8th floor, and the elevators, while fast, use a system which takes some getting used to (and which seems to confuse a lot of people at first). And of course there's none of the charm you'd get in a smaller boutique hotel.
