Loved the whole experience. Fantastic service, amazing staff who went out their way to make it a very special stay. Like the quieter location & we had great spacious room with a view. Thanks & we will recommend at every chance.

The Downtown Marriott is convenient to the financial district, World Trade Center, etc but it has a few issues. First, the elevators are s.l.o.w - expect to wait because you most likely will. Second, the hotel could use an update - the lobby is ok but the rooms are somewhat depressing - not necessarily bad but in need of a serous refresh (maybe another refresh.....). Third, the hallways are even more depressing - doors look old, door locks are old and don't look very secure. Overall, it looks like they did a half-aXX job of a refresh. This hotel is competitively priced with others in the area ( read "expensive" for what you get). Not bad, not great - just average. The rooms seamed a bit larger than other properties in the area ( a plus ). As a Marriott it does not compare favorably with other Marriott properties BUT it is NYC and location and room size may trump other considerations.

Room Tip: Ask for a "corner room" (jr. Suite) if it is available.

Green Features: I have no clue other than they do have CFL lights and a LG flat screen.

Thank you for your candid feedback. I am disheartened to hear about your experience. Please be assured that we taking immediate corrective step to avoid such problems. We have already had our elevator company service the elevators. We are looking to have renovations to our guest rooms in the next 2 years.

Perfect location in lower Manhattan. We stayed on the 26 floor and the view over the Hudson river was just perfect. The lobby was a bit bland but Maria at the front desk was very helpful and so was the rest of the staff.

I found this hotel quite small compared to other Marriotts, the room also seemed cramped. But otherwise, it is a good hotel. The redeeming factor is its great location. It is near Wall St., Battery Park, the 9-11 Memorial. The subway station is also just near. Our room had a great view.

My wife booked 2 nights at the Marriott as a birthday surprise and it was an excellent choice.
The staff were very helpful and accommodating.
The room was very clean, comfortable and it had everything we needed, including a safe.
Location was fantastic, with the 911 memorial site just a block away, and only a short walk to Battery Park.
Highly recommended.

Really nice hotel, very nice reception staff, very comfortable beds, and great location for downtown. Would definitely stay here again. Subway is closeby. There is a small supermarket for essential things a block away and a nice Mexican restaurant as well within 5 minutes walking distance. Very close to the 9/11 memorial.there is free wifi in the lobby, but not in the rooms unfortunately.

Nothing special here except the bar area, which is nicer than most and has a good variety of food and drink. Rooms need to be updated, the 90s were 20 years ago and the rooms show it, they are tiny rooms, peeling ceiling in the outdated bath, old red carpet, etc. If you're here on business note that the concierge lounge is tiny and doesn't have normal coffee service, just one of those 5 minute per cup machines...kids in the lounge made it more of a romper room than a concierge level.

Location is excellent and staff wonderful, just not a remarkable place.

In all average and not worth the $389/nt they charge.
