This 5 night stay was my first visit to this hotel. Staff were helpful and friendly. My initial reaction to the room was disappointing as the window was open (and it was 37 degrees outside) so the room was very cold when I arrived and looked a bit outdated. I was going to ask for another room but instead just turned on the heat and put on a jacket for about 20 minutes until it warmed up....probably just a goof up, but not a great start to the stay.

The staff were very pleasant at the hotel. Rooms were clean and housekeeping was very good. Bed was comfortable. Wireless internet was not good in the room (would only work in certain parts of the room), which was inconvenient.

Had dinner one night and breakfast a few days in the hotel and food was fine. Nice hotel workout/gym room.

All in all, an okay choice.

This hotel as a convenient location and I would stay here again if the price was right, however the rooms and hallways are a little outdated....somewhat like a pre-war NYC apartment with small bathrooms, old plumbing, old windows and fixtures.

We were lucky to have the opportunity to spend the night in one of the suites on 12/31/12 (concierge floor) thanks to a very good friend. It was absolutely beautiful and large enough to accommodate 4 adults easily. We enjoyed the heated terrace as well.Service was excellent and it was very nice to be able to dine on breakfast the next morning form the breakfast buffet too. Location was perfect to access Grand Central Station and to visit the tree at Rockefeller Center without any hassles. Thank you!

Stayed 3 nights for business. Room was a bit small but fine for business travel. Hotel is very clean and service is good. The bar/restaurant has a great work table with plugs and connections to work which we used a lot. Location is great though.

This was our 2nd NYE in NYC staying at the Marriott East Side. It is a very short easy walk from Grand Central, blocks from 42nd Street, Times Sq. etc. T stops easily accessible. It is a little out of the "crazy" tourist area so you don't have to be shoulder to shoulder with people as you try and enjoy the city. The rooms are small but do the trick and who wants to stay in their room when you are in NYC? I was surprised that on the 31st floor we could hear the street traffic but it was really just subtle background noise. Highly recommended!

The staff is stone faced and uncaring. The hotel is very out dated and the concierge offers bare bones - you even pay for your drinks while Margaret keeps guard. The pastries are cold and hard. Room service is very slow. Avoid this hotel at all costs
