This is my first submission to any ratings forum! Are you traveling with tweens and teens and need some comfortable accommodations? Our family of five loved Affinia Gardens' One Bedroom Deluxe Suite (ask for a balconey)! Just GO here....RELAX yourself and book this hotel right NOW! Traveling overnight with family and friends in NYC can be very tough. We all wanted to be near the festive attractions of the greatest city in the world but we also needed a safe, roomy, and clean place to stay. I exhaustively researched hotels and kept coming back to a hotel I had never heard of....Affinia Gardens. This is a very relaxing Boutique Suite Hotel on the Upper East Side of NYC. My wife wanted me to tell the Forum that the bedding, pillows (there's an extensive pillow menu including "memory foam" & Ipod "speaker" pillows!) , and shower pressure were top notch! When you get there, you should ask for Krys, Latoya, or Sam. They will arrange for your parking, settle you in as comfortably & quickly as possible, and will gladly help you navigate the sights and cuisine of all NYC and the Upper East Side. Affinia Gardens was a wonderful place to stay for the entire family. The assorted hot teas and fruited water in the lobby were a much appreciated treat!

We stayed at the Affinia twice in one week and the experiences couldn't have been more different. The first time, although we had to wait for our suite, the staff were helpful and kind and we had a lovely night's stay.

Two days later, we came back after having confirmed that we would have the same suite to find that they had sold it to someone else. The reservationist was both unapologetic and unhelpful. They tried to sell us a "connecting suite," which is basically 2 junior suites put together, at the same rate as the 2 bedroom suite we had reserved (that would have netted them an extra $300-400 profit). When we balked, they said they would "knock off $400 off the price we had agreed to pay for the 2 bedroom suite." This is basically a $100 discount since we were given 2 adjoining junior suites. And then our room wasn't ready 45 minutes after it was supposed to be.

Bellman dumped our luggage out on the carpet to take other guests and then was visably annoyed when we decided to carry our own bags. He had been great on our first visit.

I hope this is just a function of being oversold and we might try them again. But it is disappointing.

Location was fabulous. Nice neighbourhood and close to shops. Easy to get downtown via transit or cab. Quiet hotel...when someone is watching TV in the sitting room, you cannot hear them in the bedroom. Tidy, neat place. Staff were very helpful, particularly, Rhonda, Sal, Melissa and Pedro. We loved Kris, the doorman! Tea salon open all hours, which was great. We were there in very cold weather with snow. Very festive...hotel nicely decorated. I suspect the hotel was full, however you could not hear people from your room. You felt like the place was your own private hotel. Would definitely go back. It was our first trip to NY, and the hotel was perfect!

Although I was alone, I felt a friendly atmosphere. The lobby is small enough that you have a sense that your needs are attended to. There is not much noise and fewer sirens than more crowded areas of the city. The Jr. Suite was like an apartment with a separate full kitchen. The decor is really attractive. Four area restaurants provide room service but I walked to one of them, the Silver Star at 2nd and 65th, and was delighted with the quality, variety and reasonable prices of the food. I almost felt like a resident instead of a visitor...what a great experience.

We stayed at the Affinia Gardens in November for 10 days for a business event. This hotel is in the perfect area of town for anything related to the Armory or museum events. The room is big, with lovely amenities and a kitchen as well. The staff is the most friendly and efficient of any hotel I have ever stayed in . Being there for such a long stay, we encountered most of the people that are employed there and each of them is a treasure. This is one hotel you must try for a luxurious and relaxing experience.

My wife and I had a great stay at the Affinia Gardens at 64th Street on the upper east side. The room size is excellent and the shower is the best (almost as good as my personal spa at home).
Krys, Latoya and Sam and others whom I don't recall their names were warm and eager to help.
We will definitely come back to the Affinia on our next and future visits.
