“Great great location”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

The room I stayed in had two double beds and it was really tight for space (it's Manhattan - you just gotta get used to small spaces), but the location can't be beat. The nearest subway stop is right beside the hotel and there's a super breakfast place next door. An easy walk to lots of attractions and shopping. My biggest complaint was my bed which wasn't totally comfortable, but my room very clean and well kept. I would absolutely stay here again.

Recent visit with a son. Room with 2 doubles, fairly big for midtown. Good location for MOMA. Very busy lobby, lots of tour groups. Rooms attractive with modern decor. Fairly quiet, though the usual, doors closing, late night and early morning activity. Good cafeteria style eatery right next door for breakfast, lunch, snacks.

Room Tip: book a room with window on 51 st.

My son, husband and I stayed here in early June. It was a great hotel in a good location for seeing the city. Many airline personnel stay there. The rooms are very clean, and updated and a reasonable size and price for an NYC hotel. They had a helpful concierge staff. (But be warned on booking shows with via the concierge as it could be twice the actual cost of the ticket. Go online yourself when booking shows.) I would highly recommend this hotel for small families, girls trips, couples or business travelers. Also, the Hilton people were very helpful in letting us use Hilton Honors points for one of the nights. We did book about 3 months before the trip. There's a little breakfast/lunch place that's very reasonable right next door.

I stayed here because it was close to my meetings and all of the staff was friendly. The lobby was a bit crowded. The check in was quick and who doesn't like getting a cookie at check in. I stayed in room 1911 and the room could use a really good cleaning and some touch up work. The bathroom was really small. The room very dark at night and it seemed they were using lower wattage light bulbs to conserve energy, i found it difficult to read in the room. The only issue and it is minor - the tv did not offer TBS which happens to be the one channel i watch often. The black and white photos of New York are pleasant. The hallway seemed to be very active and it was a bit loud at times.

For the Fancy Food Show crowd, this is perfect location. It may seem far away but it is actually convenient. If you attend or exhibit at any trade show at Javit Center, this hotel is just perfect. The trade show normally provides free shuttle bus to Javit Center. The shuttle bus stop is the beginning of the line (at Waldorf Astoria on Lexington and 50th);hence, it ensure that you get the seat.

Cafe Metro and the Dermaco coffee next to the hotel are a great breakfast place. Or you can just go around the corner for the famous Ess bagel or au bon pain or Le Pain Quotidient, etc.

Subway line E and 6 are running by, so you can go to World Trade Center or Chinatown/Seaport area easily. 5th avenue is a few blocks away. Your spouse can navigate to shopping on 5th ave or Rockefeller plaza on her own while you are at the trade show or conference.

Nothing great about the hotel, its a clean nice and spacious hotel, but there is no coffee maker in the room either, the parking was expensive with $55, but you can expect that in NY city, but did not like the no in-out option for parking.

Checked in on July 7th. Staff seemed nice other then the check in clerk. Seemed bothered and unhappy working that day. Room was clean but small. Could not control the air conditioning on a 90 degree day. Room would get very warm during showers because of lack of ventilation. Bar was nice and staff was great. Bed could have been more comfortable. I would stay again but evaluate price and other hotels.
