Sorely in need of a refurb - mould in bathroom and clogged sink, drawers don't open, noisy, smelly room. Asked to be out in half an hour from breakfast but could only get a bill by standing up to walk out.

We deeply regret any discomfort that you experienced during your stay. We take pride in our hotel from service to appearance, and to hear that you experienced a stay that was anything short of perfect is very regrettable. We also take comments as it regards to cleanliness very seriously.

As a part of our exciting new chapter with Hyatt, we will be undergoing renovation starting early next year that will bring elevated style, enhanced comfort, and improved experience, and will address all of the issues mentioned above and more.

Some one from my team will be reaching out to you personally through a direct message on TripAdvisor. We would like to know more details of your stay so that we can hopefully turn your experience around. We look forward to hearing from you.

Best,

An unexceptional hotel with passive aggressive responses from reception staff and concierge alike. Don't expect coffee, tea, or cream in your room, even if there are mugs and a kettle. You may ask for coffee, tea and even cream to be delivered to your room, but do not expect it to be turn up. As for ice, forget it. I've had better service and greater civility at cheap country motels where they know the value of good manners and attention to small details.
It's clean, comfortable and looks good, and that's where it ends. Shop around, you can do a whole lot better.

Thank you for your recent stay at the Parker New York. We deeply regret to hear that you had a less than amazing experience with our staff. This is not the level of service that we are well known for providing, and to hear this brings us great embarrassment and regret.

Someone from my team will be reaching out to you through a direct message on TripAdvisor. We would like to hear more details about your stay so that we can address any and all issues that you may have experienced. We would greatly appreciate the opportunity to turn your experience around.

I'm frequently in NYC and my preferred hotel was booked, so I thought I'd give the Parker a try...

The first room smelled so badly of mildew that I asked for a different room. They efficiently brought up a key and took me to a different room. This one didn't smell, and I needed to meet people for dinner, so I put down my things and left.

I got back late and went to the bathroom to get ready for bed... I was shocked. There were big gaps in the tile grout and the caulk around the toilet was filthy.

For a hotel that claims a luxury market position, the 70s style AC unit rattled and hummed (thank goodness I had earplugs), and the rooms offered NO coffee service, mini bar, or water bottles... The room feels more like a Jersey turnpike Days Inn than a posh, Central Park hotel.

The best thing about the hotel is access to Gravity Fitness in the lower level. However, this alone, is not compelling enough to stay at the Parker.

Pay attention to the other reviews too.

Convenient location but is dated and be prepared to pay an extra $40/d for “resort services you are unlikely to need or use. Don’t look for coffee in the room or a modern TV cable system. Still the lobby has charm.

We do have the details of our Daily Destination Fee disclosed on our website as well as with all of our travel agency partners, however, it is possible that depending on the method or channel used to make reservations, the information is not always clearly communicated. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

We hope to have you back with us, even before this scheduled remodel is completed, and invite you to contact us in advance so that we may personally oversee your stay.

Don't go expecting the pool or the fun videos in the elevator. The pool's closed and the videos have been replaced by ads. Even the Burger Joint wasn't as good. Change is hard.
But the staff were all excellent.
