“Great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2012

Smart hotel in a great location close to Central Park, diners and Empire State, Times Square etc.
Great view from pool but £10 to use. Popular restaurant although we chose to eat out. Would recommend.

A nice large room, particularly for NYC. Very clean and modern - the drawers are built into the walls and the bedside stands have a unique configuration. We had a group of family come to visit and everyone was really comfortable. The very large, very clear flat screen TV got rave reviews. Having cartoons playing in the elevators was really fun. I used the Starbucks across the street for WiFi rather than spending $16/day. The concierge was very helpful both with directions and finding us a nice restaurant.

The only jarring note was the toilet tissue dispenser - it was so cheap it couldn't keep the roll in place. Seemed really strange with everything else so nice.

This was undoubtedly my most pleasant experience in New York. A short trip to the city was not long enough to appreciate the outstanding location, service and amenities at this hotel. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Perfect location to use as your base, close to all great shopping spots and sightseeing (2 blocks from Central Park). Park views from the hotel are stunning. I would recommend a Park View room. The Dry Bar downstairs was such a treat with great service and outstanding work - not badly priced at all! The Burger Joint lived up to it's reputation, with an awesome cheese burger - I was able to bypass the long line and call in the order from my room. All in all, a great stay. I will definitely be staying here again!

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The rooms were much larger than expected and were clean and modern looking. Very comfortable beds- we slept great! Good location near Central Park. The staff was friendly and helpful...we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.

Our family enjoyed a one-night weekend stay using the affordable Starpicks online rate. The highlight was swimming 43 floors over Central Park. There is a nominal $15 daily fee per room, which we were happy to pay given the unique experience. Our junior suite had enough modern design sensibility to feel like you weren't staying in a cookie cutter chain. Plus, we loved Norma's for breakfast, especially the crunchy French toast. Combined with a very central location and a friendly staff, we found Le Parker Meridien to be a great NY-cation destination.

Dear LosAngelesTravel123,

Thank you for your visit AND the great review. Our pool has always been great but with this years addition of the floor-to-ceiling windows moved "great" to "Cannot Miss."

We look forward to welcoming you and your family back soon.

One night stay, I am a premier member of whatever the club is called - SPG? In any event, in business for one night. I always ask for a "quiet" room, which is always tough in Manhattan. They put me on the 5th floor, which turned out horrible because you re close to the street. I was too tired to change rooms or even ask. But seriously, when someone asks for a quiet room you are put on the 5th floor? I think this hotel is 42 stories. So I was able to hear the trash trucks on 56th street. Good times, and I just blasted the air conditioner to drown out the NYC garbage trucks, although it was not enough to drown out the occassional motorcycle noise.

The room itself was decent, and the walk-in shower was a smart design. I had what they called a mini-suite or junior suite, which is usually what I get.

Checkout process was awkward; you would think they would stuff the invoice under your door or permit online check out. But nope, these folks are stuck in a process that is old and slow; you have to wait in line and make it "official". What a complete waste of time for everyone...

In any event, two stars for these people, as they likely too advantage of the knowledge I was only in town for one night.

Dear tfaw,

Thank you for your visit and review. I promise the upgraded suite was intended to be a plus not problem. I wish you would have let us know. I'm sure we could have moved your room to a quieter location. We do not send bills under the door unless specifically requested. It's a whole lot of paper and we found we had to dispose of too many unwanted bills otherwise. For checker departures, we have an option for Express Check-out right on your registration card. It lets you skip the line and have your bill emailed to you. Please contact me with your name or confirmation number and I will ensure your bill is always delivered (and your floor preference added to your profile).

Stayed here the weekend of Sept 20th to 23rd. Had a great stay. Staff was always very pleasant and willing to help. The location of the hotel was very well situated. We were within walking distance of everything.

Room Tip: We had a park view room, worth the extra fee.

Dear cmad242,

We are stoked you enjoyed your visit and our location. We were the 1st hotel to open in Mid-town, back in 1983... everyone thought we were crazy. Crazy-like-a-fox. MID-town is in the MID-dle of all things exciting in NYC. We hope to see you again soon.
