My family and I enjoyed 100% the room and bathroom sizes and cleanliness, bed sizes, sheet quality, quiet environment to sleep, free Internet access, free healthy breakfast, coffee, tea, apples, cookies all day long, , water bottles and meal bags to take. We also found the location excelent, walking distance to Times Square, MoMA, Fifth Ave, etc. Also, one block to subway station. Lastly, but not least, friendly staff. We do recommend.

We had been to this hotel before but definitely had a great experience again. All of the hotel staff were nice and always very helpful. We ate the complimentary breakfast each morning while we were here, and thought it was was very good each time. One staff member in particular, named Rosa, worked in the breakfast room and was very kind and helpful. The hotel is also close to subway stations, and we used them a lot. We would definitely recommend this Hampton Inn to anyone wanting to stay in New York City!

Thank Lori L

On arrival on 1st Jan 14 the xmas light and tree were still up, check-in was quick and painless.
Lift to the room along the brown carpet not the nicest, room was fine, on 2nd floor, oveflooking the air-con plant so no view at all.
2 queen beds and small seating area, TV, wardrobe and charging station for ipads etc and free WIFI!
Small internal bathroom, no window, plenty of clean towels and toiletries
Safe in the wardrobe and safety chain on the door
No bar but you can get complimentary hot drinks from the lobby area, small shop selling gifts/sweets etc. You can use the Breakfast room to sit in and eat if you bring in food or have a coffee etc, my kids did go there and use the wifi on ipads etc.
Breakfast room, small but you are told the level of activity at certain times of the morning! if you want a relaxing breakfast aim to be there when the doors open! if you go down at 9am it will be busy and you may not sit with your family. Plenty of people came down in PJ's and took their food back to their rooms. Plenty of choice from hot food, yogurts/fruit/make your own waffles.
Concierge staff very helpful when we asked for directions etc, and we were directed to a very nice Italian restaurant - out the hotel and 1st right 1/2 way down! chap who looked after our bags the day we were leaving was less than polite when my husband didnt instantly give him a tip!
We did have an issue with the hotel, I told the duty manager and spoke to the Customer Relations Manager, the incident was logged and I was offered compensation which I was very happy with.

The locaton of the hotel is good, not right on Times Square or Central Park but all the sights are close by and walkable, I prob wouldnt go back if I go to NY again, would upgrade and book somewhere with a bar & restaurant.

If one aims to attend Broadway shows when visiting the city, this hotel is located a few steps from most of the theaters (e.g. Jersey Boys and Wicked are located about half block away).
Moreover, the subway stations is really close (same block if you go for the A,C and E blue lines) and about 3 blocks away for the 1, 2 and 3 red lines).
Thalia (~$$$) is a really good choice for a nice restaurant nearby (1 block away). There is also the Totto Ramem one the same block. Both have good rates in the tripadvisor reviews.
We took a room with a street view and the windows were good enough to keep the most of sounds out (except by the firetrucks).
Cleanness and comfortableness are in line with Hampton standards (which is nice).

Hampton Inn is one of the few hotel chains I use which will take care of you prior to the stay. Airport Shuttles, Tickets to Plays, Places to eat were all available before my arrival. Thanks to Kathryn, the Hotel guest manager, she even gave us some special welcome by finding out we were there to celebrate a part of our 40th wedding anniversary and the Westminster Dog Show. Outstanding staff all around. Margaret, our room attendant, was cheerful and brightened our day each morning. This hotel is literally in the midst of the theater district 1/2 block from the Gershwin. You can't find this type of service at this price anywhere else.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms on the street side to do some of the greatest people watching from your room

We stayed here last weekend and it was excellent. Everyone was extra friendly, especially the porters and Rosa P. at breakfast. She made sure everything on the breakfast bar was always full and this was tough since there was a large group of h.s. students there. The location was very convenient considering the reasonable price for the rooms. The rooms were bigger than I expected being this close to Times Square. It was cold, but we were able to walk to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Carnegie Hall, Carnegie Deli, etc. We took a cab to the Guggenheim (about $13). There was a drug store right next door and a couple of nice pubs less than a block away (really liked House of Brews).

Room Tip: Upper floor rooms seemed quieter.

When in New York, you really look or a good hotel close to sites worth visiting etc and of course shopping! This hotel is well located, not quite in Times Square, but a few blocks away! The breakfast area is mad, if you don't get there before 7am. Across the road is. Mexican takeout joint! Chipolata....a must try..
The staff can't do enough for you at this hotel. Would personally have preferred shower gel vs soap...but that is being picky!
