Lovely place, with top work of front people desk, extra friendly, helpful and there is no feel that they do for the tips. Hotel is not very big and everyone was greetings us with our names (my wife and me), so we feel as we are home, thanks.

Room Tip: Higher floors have less street noise

This is my first review of the Blakely hotel and is reflective of several stays at the hotel over the last few years. The hotel is well appointed with a great location within walking distance of Times Square, Central Park, Saks 5th and many other primary destinations.

After staying many years at the Roosevelt Hotel on 45th street our family began to grow and we needed a location with more room to accommodate two adults and two children. The Blakely is an ideal choice. We always stay in one of the suites which includes two queen beds and a day bed in a separate living room. The small kitchenette is ideal for quick snacks and has a microwave and small fridge.

Service is very good and the concierge has great suggestions for things to do if you need help. The Abboccato restaurant located on the ground floor of the hotel provides room service and has comprehensive menu offering something for everyone.

Looking forward to visiting again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room fourth floor and up on the back of the building to avoid the noise of morning traffic...

We spent 2 nights at the Blakely and enjoyed it immensely. We were fortunate to have a room on a high (14th) floor and found it quiet, spacious, and most comfortable. The location was ideal…a fairly short walk to the theater district made it a perfect home-base for breakfast and a convenient restaurant for dinner after our Saturday matinee. The staff was friendly and helpful, welcoming and accommodating.
We appreciated the ease of parking right next door and the slight discount for hotel guests was an added benefit.
I had the "free" rather ordinary continental breakfast both mornings, although my husband enjoyed a tasty eggs Benedict treat one day. Dinner was excellent. Our helpful waiter suggested appropriate portions and very delicious home made pasta dishes. The wine was excellent as was the ice cream dessert.
We would definitely consider staying again at The Blakely, even though it was rather expensive. It was a memorable treat for a special occasion.

Stayed here for one night, and it was a very nice hotel. It was in a great location, the staff was friendly, and it was very cute. Rooms were a bit small, but that is expected of NYC. I would definitely stay here again.

I've been staying at the Blakely since the Drake went condo and haven't looked back. Last weekend, I stayed on the 7th floor facing 56th. Being a light sleeper, I worried; but it wasn't a problem. Would recommend the hotel.

We stayed here for our first wedding anniversary and were here for 5 days. The hotel is ideally situated for Central Park, shopping and the theatres. The room was large, clean and there was a lovely bathroom.
The WiFi was very temperamental, which was frustrating.
The breakfast was adequate, and kept us sustained until lunchtime.

This was a lovely old hotel, and I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: The higher the floor the better

Stayed for 3 nights with wife and son as part of a tour round the States - Hotel is in an Ideal midtown location with Central Park & Times Square within walking distance (even for an 11 year old)

Reception and lobby staff are excellent offering essential advice on nearby attractions. The lobby area and the corridors to the rooms were a little drab but was pleased with the decor in the room itself. The rooms were well equipped with Coffee making facilities, a microwave, a mini bar with room to put your own bottles in.

Breakfast was better than expected after reading past reviews. The breakfast staff didn't do too much to earn their tip, but what's a 2-3 dollars these days.

The only downside was the traffic noise - we requested a quiet room and were given the 7th floor facing onto 55th - The traffic seemed to go all night, so I don't know what a noisy room would be like.

If you want to eat out there are plenty of good differing standard eateries nearby

Overall a very good start to our tour of the States and would certainly recommend to others
