well located, rooms are small but if you intend to spend the whole day off and really enjoy NYC, that is more than enough. Breakfast is free but, again, that could not be different than that, w/ very few opptions. We had no issues w/ the free Internet.

Room Tip: no special commens on that

Location is the biggest plus, close to major attractions (midtown, downtown).. in walking distance to tourist attractions, .... Friendly staff.. Hotel needs a little TLC in the way of cleaning, dusting and a general well kept appearance.

Stayed here with a school party. Clean, nice contemporary rooms, friendly enough and a very good breakfast, although very busy so best to get down early. Great location too. Easy to walk into the centre of Manhattan from here

I just wanted to say that I just returned to Canada this morning after spending 4 nights at this hotel. The last time was almost two years ago. And it was even better than the last time! We were treated very well, with the staff continuing to be super friendly and helpful, it's clean, comfortable and again, couldn't be more centrally located to everything within walking distance. They have kept the hotel up appearance wise, with some new changes to the breakfast room for the better (more seating), and I can't get over how knowledgeable the staff all are about restaurants, places to visit, routes to take via transit/taxi etc. Kudos to the staff! You helped make our stay AGAIN a fabulous experience in Manhattan. We wish we could have stayed longer. Appreciate the little extras you did when asked (something as simple as bringing us some toiletries we had forgotten at home and we were in a hurry to get to a meeting and couldn't get out to a store to get them---one phone call and in minutes we had what were needed), the smiles and sense of humour. Thanks! Will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Just happy they still have "smoking" rooms.

Stayed here on a geography field trip for a week. The hotel is in a prime location just moments from Broadway. The food at breakfast was good and the staff were very friendly. It was clean and comfortable and the air con in the rooms was a welcome addition

There is also a nice little flea marker opposite once a week where you can get your hands in some awesome retro american memorabilia.

Pleasantly surprised, great location, close to Penn Station, a block from Madison Square Park and Original Shake Shack, yum by the way. Around the corner from the Flat Iron Building, and on the corner was Hills Country Fried Chicken, another great food find. Walking distance to just about all the New York tourist sights. The only time we took the subway was to go downtown to the Freedom Tower, the E will take you right to it. And the station was only a couple of blocks from the hotel. The rooms were big enough for the 4 of us, 2 full size beds and a pull out couch.
The rooms were clean, nothing fancy but how long are you really in it. And a full breakfast was included. Eggs, sausage, cereal, fruit, pastries, toast, bagels, coffee, juice, and make your own waffles. Definitely would stay again.
