There is a special charm on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The area is constantly improving. At each visit I find new shops and new restaurants. After a few years of renovation, the Bellclaire became a real gem. My husband keeps telling me that I am shooting myself in the leg by writing such an enthusiastic review about the hotel- That the price will go up and we won't be able to get a room for our next visit in the "Big Apple". In my opinion, the owners of the hotel should know that they did a great job by updating the property.
Only the entrance was not completely done, but you can see it's almost the end of the work. We got a nice room on the 7th floor just by the elevators, we could hear the voices of the other guests in the corridor, it wasn't that bad. The room was bright and full of light from the windows. The bathroom isn't big, but it's OK. The front desk staff are efficient and friendly. I was amazed that the bell captain recognized me from previous visits. Overall the Bellclaire is a good value for money, great area to stay with great transportation to all over the city.

We've stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. Very comfortable and big room in a good location, 2 blocks from the subway station. A Big Big thank you to Kris the receptionist for being super-friendly and really made our stay great. He was so kind and helpful with any request we had! Thanks you!
I highly recommend this hotel!

My family and I recently stayed at this hotel during our daughter's wedding in New York. The other side of the wedding party made the group reservations for 5 rooms. As part of the wedding - parents of the bride we had hoped to have been treated fairly or at least as well as the other parents. We were told all rooms would be of equal size and close together. My son and daughter in laws room was in a shoebox on the other side of the hotel far away from the rest of the party. When asked to be charged to something a little larger or closer to the rest of the family we were told nothing was available despite our booking these reservations 2-3 months in advance. When the other side needed a larger room because another member of the family was joining a single they accommodated them with a suite at no extra charge. We were all promised breakfast as part of the deal but when I went to the front desk I was told they were only for the couple getting married and the other parents for making the booking. The other mother had to go and obtain them for us at her request. NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE.

The Hoetel Bellclaire is located on West 77th Street and Broadway. Valet Parking is available for an extra charge. We were able to arrive early, leave our luggage with the Bellman, and give our car to the Valet within five minutes of our arrival. The staff at the front desk, especially Amber and Brian were very welcoming and helpful.

Daryl, the Concierge, gave us a map and great directions to the subway stop most convenient to where our first sightseeing destination was. Throughout our
stay, he was very helpful with sightseeing ideas, directions and general information.

The Hotel has a lot of little touches that make you feel very much at home, such as free Wi-Fi,
free newspapers in the morning, a coffee shop located in the very comfortable lobby, and chilled iced tea available gratis in the afternoon and evening.

The room was clean and pleasantly furnished. There was a hair dryer, iron, ironing board, and bathrobes available in the closet. There was a flat screen TV on the wall opposite the bed. The bathroom was decorated with granite counters,
glass shower doors and nice tile. The only drawback was it was very small.

The day of our departure, we were able to leave our luggage with the desk staff, and leave our car parked in the lot for most of the day with no extra charge. We called 45 minutes prior to
arriving back at the hotel, and our car was waiting for us.

We found the neighborhood around the hotel safe and pleasant to walk in. There were restaurants nearby, and we could walk to several subway stops as well as Central Park.
We would not hesitate to stay there again.

Room Tip: The double rooms are adequate, but on the smaller side, especially the bathroom. You do not have to...

This is the third year we've stayed here. Last year the lobby was being remodeled. When I came in the door this year it was with an exclamation at how lovely it is. This hotel is smallish, tucked away on 77th near Broadway. There is no restaurant but who needs one in the hotel when in NYC! Free internet is an essential to me and it works. The staff - many of whom were here three years ago too - are helpful and pleasant. The beds feel good and the window open! The bathroom is small but functional and everything is clean! Location is convenient and it's low key at night. Draw backs might be that there is no drawer space. I'm an UNpacker and this was a bit of a challenge. But, we'll come back again!

Room Tip: Rooms with windows on the Broadway side are our favorites. More chance to capture the bustle of th...

Perfect place to stay to discover Manhattan! Within walking distance to 1 and 2/3 Subway (just a few blocks) and to Central Park! Great restaurants around the Hotel as well! As a guest we were even entitled for discounts at a few hotels in the area! Go and ask the Front Desk, they were always assisting us with a smile! I will be back! FOR SURE! You can not go wrong with this place! The hotel is right next to broadway - but once in your room you do not feel like you are in the Manhattan. Best night sleep ever!
