Room 302 a and b. Shared facilities. Worst room ever and i have been to India and China 20 years ago. Chrging $230 a night would not let my dogs sleep here. Tiny room with only 4 coathangers. A chest of drawers fetched from the local dump. Definitely got electricity as wires all over place. I would have expected this in some out of the way town in Africa not New York. Sticking to Europe after this trip

Room Tip: Dont take 302

A great deal for multiples and families if you are on a budget. You don't have the luxuries of a concierge, room service, restaurant etc. If you re looking for space, ability to eat in if wanted, this is the place to stay. Three friends on our trip and we had two twins in the bedroom, a full futon in the living room, a kitchen and bath. You are just a couple blocks from Little Italy and Chinatown. We did spend more on cabs as we usually spend a lot of time in Times Square but still came out ahead by a few hundred dollars. Not the best place if you like to do a lot of walking.

The rooms at this serviced apartment are a lot older than what is depicted in the photo's. However for an expensive city such as New York we were willing to overlook the fact that it was quite misrepresented by the photos. However be prepared to have to ask for towels, toilet paper and for rubbish to be taken out an a daily basis. During our two week stay the bed was made only a couple of times, towels were taken and not replaced, or left on the floor, rubbish was left to pile up in bin and we had to consistently ask for replacement toilet paper. Overall the staff are not very friendly and kept accusing us of leaving our do not disturb sign on the door.

If you need space, Off Soho Suites are a good choice. Our room was spacious, large bathroom, full kitchen, sofa area and a separate twin (or queen size?) bed room. This suite easily could accommodate 3 adults with its about 600 sqft. The suite's sleeping room was also quite quiet, once the bar Lorelei downstairs closed its beer garden in the back, which happened after or around midnight.

The decor of the hotel and the overall condition of the furniture and fixtures, however, were more worthy of a youth hostel than a hotel! The tiles on the floors of the kitchen and bathroom had numerous cracks and the storage space in the batch room was filthy. To sum up, this hostel needs an urgent revamp (and it is not suspiring that you seem mainly young students / youg hippsters there). What you seen on the pictures on the website does not even come close to what your room will look like.

But the service and the gentleman at the reception were very friendly!

This hotel worked out perfectly for a bachelorette party, and easily slept 4 girls in the room. It was one of the very few places I could find that was reasonably affordable, and could comfortably sleep four. The front desk staff were very helpful and the room was comfortable. Highly recommended!

This place is an anomaly. I stayed with family members as we wanted a suite while a relative was in the hospital at NYU (a 15 minute walk up Second Avenue). There is a lot to like here. It is quiet in the evening (except Saturday nights of course). It is near public transportation and an amazing number of excellent inexpensive restaurants, Chinatown, Lower East Side and Soho. Parking is not cheap and the place is decorated and furnished in sparse minimalist decor. But, there is a fully working kitchen to cook, microwave, make coffee, tea. The air-conditioning is effective and the beds are comfortable. It is a lot of square footage for the rate. And if it is hipster vibes or NY charm you want, just head out the front door and walk a few blocks. You could easily fit 4 into the suite with a pull out bed in the living room. Clerk was very helpful when we needed to book on an additional night. If I have two suggestions to the staff. First, we could use a few hooks to hang things in the bedrooms and bathrooms And also, it is great that they have an exercise room, but some of the equipment is not working or working well. The room could use a few more free weights and a fan or two down there would be very, very welcome. Regardless, I will be very happy to go back there for another stay.

Room Tip: Lots of great nearby late night delis for you to buy supplies for breakfast in your room in the morn...

I have stayed at the Off Soho Suites on multiple occassions and recommend it to any out of town relatives. This is an apartment-style hotel which features full kitches in each unit, a good location in lower Manhattan, excellent friendly service, and is overall a good value for the price paid. As I mentioned, the location is good, but not exactly central to ALL of the major tourist attractions. However, this is not an issue as NYC is well covered by public transport AND a new bike sharing system called CitiBike which has a pick up location right across the street from the hotel. No issues getting around here!

My unit on my most recent stay was #205, a 1 bedroom apartment with a large bathroom (full tub), decent sized bed room and "cozy" but comfortable living room.
Of course, this is not a luxury hotel but they don't claim to be. They are a great alternative to cramped hotel rooms of the major chains. Europeans espescially will feel right at home here.

Definitely check out this hotel on your next New York adventure.
