We enjoyed the breakfast served in the lobby, perfect start for our 2 days we were in N.Y . The hotel wasn't fancy ,but clean ,& close to Times Square & cruise terminal .......which was an easy 4 block walk .....again Kathy at front desk advised us to just walk .....Thanks again for our 2 day stay ....

We were in NYC to leave on a cruise when Hurricane Sandy struck. The Manager, Nigel, immediately made arrangements to extend our reservations since the cruise ships could not come in, and did the same for other guests trapped by the closed airports.

They managed to maintain their free breakfast inspite of no deliveries for a couple of days. They constatnly worked with us to make sure we had a place to stay until the cruise ship could come in. We met some other people who had to leave their hotel when their reservations ran out.

The services and help extended by the staff was unbeatable.

Room Tip: The rooms are small, but the location is unbeatable.

We recently stayed here when we stayed over for two days when we flew from Spain to cincinnati Ohio . The room was quite small but the location was very close to many attractions.
It was also very clean and the receptionist was of great help to us.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the street noise and a room on a higher floor.

we booked to stay here at this place from the 5th march 2013 to 9th march as are base to stay for a 40th birthday in new york was a little bit disapointed on arriving with not getting the free upgrade to the superior room as a special treat for are stay here but never mind .we still loved it. the hotel is V clean tidy the staff on the front desk are only to - willing to help you with anything from information on places to go and how to get there 10/10 if you have never been to new york like are selves . this hotel is 5 mins from times square 30 mins walk to central park for us but also depeneds on how fast you walk this was perfect for what we wanted to do for are stay . the road outside was abit noiesy at times at night ! but your also in new york city the city that never sleeps. but we loved it . the fire station over the road offered some great photos at night. the rooms were a little small but your also not in the room much as its the city you wanna be in and not your room only to change or sleep and its enough for this. its a very nice place to stay if your also on a budget like areselves the free breakfeast continetail style was more than enough to start your morning off with a smile if you dont like this there are plenty of places to go for brekfeast .the free coffee free tea and hot chocolate all day and night is fantastic as a guessed if you find your passing passed this hotel pop in grab a coffee :) the free wifi was ok but a little slow at times but its free so no complaints from myself. overall this place for us from the uk was great warm freindly clean and we will be booking again soon as we can miss it already :) :)

Room Tip: we stayed in room 410 good veiw of the street and 8th ave

We booked this hotel after reading alot of other reviews, and we weren't disappointed. The location, just off Times Square is brilliant as it's very central and there's lots of choice of bars and restaurants near by too. If you like fancy hotels with lots of extras this isn't for you, but we don't go to New York to stay in the hotel. The room was quite small, but very clean and comfortable which is all you need. The road was quite noisy outside, but that didn't bother us too much.
The staff were really friendly and helpful and the breakfast available in the foyer was a great bonus too. Would definitely recommend it as a clean, comfortable and friendly base to explore the rest of the city.

I stayed here for one night for a girl's getaway weekend. I shared a deluxe double room, which was just large enough for two. Space was really limited. The room was clean, and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. We had a corner room on the 4 th floor and it was super noisy at night. We heard every honk, every siren, and every loud and rowdy person. I should have brought my white noise machine. The hotel staff were all very friendly and personable. The continental breakfast wasn't anything to write home about, but it was adequate. The location of this hotel is perfect, and for that reason, and the price, I would stay here again.

The room was super small, which was expected. However, the hotel is so old and not updated so there is no temperature control in the room! When I checked in, the room felt like a sauna. I couldn't figure no how to fix it, so I turned on the A/C to cool off (in Feb. right after the blizzard). I stopped by the front desk on my way out at 7:30pm and the clerk said that they would have to send someone up to make it cooler. When I returned at 11:30pm, i walked in and it was still ridiculously hot. I called the desk and they again said that they would send someone up. After waiting 1 hour and no show, i turned the a/c back on and went to sleep. Even with that, I had to sleep with no blanket and minimal clothing. Also, the WiFi was horrible. I could not even watch a video, I ended up using the 3G on my phone which worked fine when the WiFi kept crashing. It was a clean hotel and yes, this is in a great location near times square and the price is right. However, I would not return.
