“Came to NY & got bed bug bites!”
Reviewed August 13, 2012

Small room looked clean but bed had bed bugs ! Got horrible bites all over!
Staff were rude and very unhelpful.
Service staff are constantly using the elevator so it is never available in a hurry! Ended up walking up 5 flights of stairs to get to my room most of the time.!
Airconditioner was so loud made it almost impossible to sleep. Water in the shower constantly looses pressure and hot water cuts out. There is not even an iron or ironing board available in the room.

Would not go back.

the hotel was clean, small though it had enough space in the room, yet, the bathroom is really small. still i didnt have a problem with the size too. the room was clean. and the reception guys were very helpful. the hotel is close to central park where you can rent a bike and enjoy the park. there is a small pizza shop next to it, and a supermarket near by. if you think of going to times square, there are like 13 or more blocks but you can try the byscles they always stand in the corner, or you can take the metro which is also very near to the hotel.. there isnt any lobby, and if you wanna wait for your transport, either you have to wait in the pizza shop or in the entrance of lobby, which has no place to sit. it has ac and the bed was comfy too. so it was very good, and the value was good too.i would recommend this hotel if you look for a cheap and nice place.

$205 a night for creaking beds, an air conditioner 1 foot from my head while I slept, and plastic pillows. Pretty much sums it all up. I didn't sleep well for the two days we were there. The A/C was so loud and hard to even hear the tv. Also, there is construction going on near the building and our room shade didn't close all the way. The construction elevator would go up and down (beginning at 7:00 a.m.) and if they wanted to, they could look into our room at us sleeping. The bathroom was clean. That was the big plus, but my first night there, I turned the shower on and the water was freezing. I called downstairs and was told to let it run for 10 minutes. We did and waited. After some time, it finally did warm up. I asked the gentleman at the desk how we might get a taxi. He said to stand on the corner and yell for one. We moved to another hotel for the same price after two days at Park Savoy. The next hotel was a 4 star rated hotel. Hot water, high count cotton sheets and close to everything. We also had someone who would hail a taxi for us. Unless you want to stay one block from Central Park for this price, keep looking.

We just left the Doubletree Fort Lee because we were tired of paying $60 a day for the shuttle (for 3) and having to live by the shuttles timetable. So we decided that one night in Manhattan would be a good way to end our stay in New York. Not being members of the Trump family, we decided to look for affordable lodging and ended up in the Park Savoy. Yes, the location is great, but that's about the only good thing about it. Hold on, that's not true: the bathroom was very clean! Everything's small, the lobby, the hallways, the rooms. The elevator, already mentioned in other reviews, is the stuff nightmares are made of; a ride in it first requires a saint's patience and secondly ensures a hefty adrenalin charge. I've travelled all over the world but apart from the back reaches of China, this is the first time I've actually encountered really creaking beds...
All this and the discovery of a blind wall within arm's reach wouldn't faze me too much were it not for the rate: with taxes: $205 ! This was booked through Venere, so not the walk in rate! Well, chalk it up to experience....

Room Tip: try to avoid rooms in the back! There is no pool, I just couldn't undo that

I really enjoyed my stay in this extremely hot week in July. In the unusual weather it was very important that the air conditioning worked well and it did cope with keeping the room cool. A complimentary breakfast, offered in the cafe next door, saved a lot of time and money.

OK, it may not be the Hilton or the Westin but the rooms are clean, airconditioning is working and the hotel is ideally located in the centre of NYC. Would definitely go there again on my next visit to New York
