We stayed as 2 couples in a suite that is for hilton timeshares. It was birthday pub crawl through lower Manhattan so our use of the hotel was minimal. Sleep, eat, shower. Check in was unremarkable, but valet were very good. Expensive parking overnight. A bit odd to enter street level and then have to take elevator up to third floor lobby. Lobby was small. Needs bigger bathrooms in lobby, took forever to get in and use at checkin.

Room was on top floor. Clean, but hot when entering. Cooled down ok. Adjust it right away. Not very big rooms for the money. Pull out was decent but not excellent. Not a queen size so it was tight sleeping. Fridge was great to store our stuff in. Bathroom was big and clean. Good water pressure for shower. Quiet room. Didn't hear other guests or street noise.

We were given complimentary breakfast one morning. The breakfast room on 5th floor(?) was big and clean and buffet style service was great. Food was all fantastic. Servers were excellent attending to coffee etc. but if you buy this breakfast as a guest, stay and eat for an hour or two...It's $$$.

It's not any reflection on the hotel or staff, but the street level entrance is over run by times square madness. It's become a zoo for all the wrong reasons. The valet staff really do their very best despite the moron-per-minute crowd that engulfs the front entrance. Can't wait for that 3rd floor hovercraft docking entrance to be installed.....

I will recommend for the food and quite, but you will pay for it.

This location was great for our two-family vacation. The suites were spacious. The hotel was located in the heart of Times Square. The manager was outstanding with our reservation and ability to provide us with the service that we needed. Even the bellman was nice enough to ask us how we were doing and provide us with directions and travel suggestions. We would definitely stay at the Double Tree Suites in Times Square again and I would recommend this hotel to everyone (especially those traveling with teenagers and small children).

Pros: Great service, they consistently went above and beyond. Room service was quick and the valet are amazing considering the location. The suite worked great for us with our two kids on the pull out, and the fridge was cold and big enough to store food.
Cons: This may be a con for some and pro for others, but the hotel is literally directly in the middle of time square which is something to consider. Parking if you have a car is $48 a day, and getting in and out is quite a production given the huge amounts of people in time square.

Dear Jimbo2121,

Thank you so much for staying with us on your last visit to Manhattan! We are so happy that you and your family had a great experience! We are so sorry for all obstacles that are outside of our Hotel as it is beyond our control. Times Square is a world attraction and it can get crowded, after all we are the city that never sleeps!. We were at the Double Tree just afew weeks ago while in NYC to celebrate our 50th. Their lobby renovations are complete. What a wonderful upgrade. It takes a bit of getting used to when entering on ground level and taking the elevator to the lobby on the third level. One thing about it that did impress me is the customer security embedded in this configuration. As usual the staff was exemplary and our suite looking out on Times Square was wonderful. It is remarkable how this hotel, right on Times Square fills you with the spirit of New York City. For my money, there is no better place to stay.

great location, surprisingly quiet room, bar was very nice, were allowed early check in and late check out which were important to us, logistics getting in and out were simple, elevators were large enough for luggage unlike many NYC hotels
