“Great for families”
Reviewed June 22, 2013 via mobile

The location is amazing. You are right in the middle of the action with a great view.

It is a bit pricey but comparable to the area. The hotel does not give you the lavish feel though. Other than location (which is extremely important) the hotel does not offer much to justify the price. Having said that I would definitely go there again.

It is very convenient and they have suites which is not common with surrounding hotels. We loved it as we had an infant with us and the extra room was very helpful. Also the location made things easier with the baby.

We came to NYC June 8th. I am a doctor and came for CE event with my family. I initially made reservation with Hyatt at grand central, one if the suites for$1100 night. I cancelled it for Doubletree after looking at the reviews. I paid $650 for a suite with AAA discount . I stay at embassy suites a lot and it is very similar to that. The location is great. You walk out and Annie the musical is 20feet away. Right down from that us McDonald's. across street is Olive Garden, M&m world, world if Hersey . Directly across us the discount ticket buying place( did not use). We walked to NBC and rock center from there less than mile. Basically great location. When you enter from street there us a small lobby with a guy that checks your key.there is a free newspaper stand beside elevator. I walked right down street to get New York local paper. You get in elevator and go up to 3 rd floor for check in. Right outside the main door a door man got us a cab 3 times within seconds( I gave $2 tip). When you go up the elevator to the lobby there is a bar in front of you which has coffee muffins in the morning. The check in was fast and we got the famous hit cookies which were good. We got the larger suite corner when had great view of Times Square on floor 40. We only heard outside noise a few times and that was siren, but really quite so don't worry about noise. Our room was right in front if the elevator but really we did not hear the elevator much at all and no people noise which was great . I usually stay away from scarier but all there's better rooms are there. There was a very big bathroom large bedroom we had a other room with tv chair and sofa bed which was actually comfortable per my son. Also there was another room with large 6 person table sink, microwave, refrige( go to Duane reade which is a local concurrent store by Walgreens and but you some water.. It's not to far away. More on that soon) there're are 6 very fast elevators, business area on floor 6 I think with 4 computers where u printed out plane tickets, a work out room rather small but had several tread mills free weights. We are the Buffett 1 time which was free with Hilton gold member( it was $30!!! If you paid, it was very good made to order station plus lots food). The maid came everyday, cleaned very well no problems. This is my first visit to New York, I typically stay in nice hotels, but this was very nice and clean I would definitely recommend staying here for the location very clean very nice staff really no minuses. I hope you find this useful .

So glad we stayed here! Great location...we were right in the middle of a movie premiere! We were easily able to walk, subway, or cab it to everywhere we wanted to go. The room was nice and roomy. We had two teenagers, two adults, and a toddler. Plenty of room for all, and room for the Toddler to play when he wasn't looking out the window at the M&M sign! Staff was wonderful. We frequently had managers and staff asking if there was anything they could do to make our stay better.we did have an issue with the valet parking when we were leaving. It took 45 minutes to get our car. We did not eat at the hotel or have room service.

We stayed on the 37th floor and considering the location is right in the heart of Times Square, we could not hear any noises from outside. Very comfortable suite and everyone is friendly and polite. Only down side is no free WI-FI. The suite has a bedroom and a separate living area and separate bathroom.

Room Tip: Higher floors are quiet

We had an awesome stay at Doubletree. The hotel was near the heart of Times Square, which made everything convenient and reachable by walking. We especially appreciated the welcoming gift, warmly baked cookies! It made us feel at home immediately! Highly recommend this place for a cozy stay in New York!

We arrived on a red eye from LA. We got to the Hotel at around 10:00am in the middle of a torrential downpour. They were very accomodating and allowed us to check in early. Room size was more than enough. I spent ALOT of time researching hotels because I wanted this to be a perfect trip and I can tell you in the future, I would stay at this hotel in a heartbeat.

We have stayed at various hotels in Times Square and they were all nice but very small. We have 2 teenaged children and the Doubletree was perfect. We paid the extra for a times square view and it was well worth it. We had a corner room and the view was awesome. The microwave and fridge is an added bonus and being right next to a McDonalds is perfect if you have picky eaters. The staff was very helpful and courteous, we arrived early in the morning and our room was ready by noon instead of the usual 3 p.m. check-in time. We had a wonderful stay at the Doubletree and will definitely stay there again when we return to NYC.
