“Thank you!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2013

I am a university teacher and every year, with my students, we stay at the Double Tree Suites on Times Square. This year I was pleased to meet Jill, the new Sales Manager. She has been very hospitable and caring for our group. I want to personally thank her an the staff for the exeptionnal level of service they have provided. On another note, I was disapointed that Daniel couldn't wear his Sherif's costume anymore, there was something special and conforting about it. Probably the nicest Sherif I personnally ever met! I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in NYC where they will feel at home and welcome.

I chose this hotel as I needed privacy for my disabled son but it isn't possible for him to have his own room..a suite with sofabed in lounge was perfect. The rates compared favourably with other suite hotels in NYC. The position is spot on if you want to step out of the hotel door into the heart of tourist NYC. The staff were friendly. The room was quite large by New York standards and clean although the decor felt tired. Our faulty shower was dealt with quickly. I would stay again if travelling as a family .

Room Tip: Must have view of Times Square or what's the point!?

This is a very good hotel. It is in the heart of Times Square and it is so easy to get to all the shows - just need your walking feet. I arrived early (about noon) and they immediately found a great room for me. The rooms are suites so very nice to have 2 rooms with a bar and large seating area. As a diamond, I was given complimentary buffet breakfast each day and it has absolutely everything you could want including an omelet station 7 days a week. The staff are fantastic and gave me advice on places to see and how to get there. The hotel has a bar run by a super friendly bartender. The restaurant is nice but my only complaint is that it's only open until about 7PM. Although, with the selection of restaurants in the neighborhood and within easy walking distance, it really didn't matter at all. There is security at the door at all times so I also felt very safe here as a single female traveler. I highly recommend it.

Easy to get to, check in was a breeze. Front desk personnel were nice and very helpful. Room was very spacious and clean! Great bed. Close to just about everything. I would definitely stay here again. Plus the complimentary cookie was a treat.

We decided to stay at the Double Tree because of its location. We were not disappointed! We arrived at the hotel at 12:30 P.M., check in is not until 3. We asked the receptionist if we could check in early but our room was not ready. She took our number to call us when it was. We took the bus from Boston and did not want to carry our luggage around and luckily we were able to check in our bags. About an hour later we got the call our room was ready and she said she put us on the highest floor that she could. We stayed in room 4201, the views were everything I could have asked for, the room was large and clean, the hotel staff was very welcoming, and we were able to easily walk to Rockafeller Center and Central Park. Thank you to the Double Tree hotel staff for making our honeymoon one we will never forget!!!

This was also right after the Boston Marathon attack and we never felt safer.

Room Tip: The higher the floor the better!

We enjoyed our stay at the Double Tree. The rooms were large, the beds are comfortable. This is a big deal for me since I don't sleep well in hotel beds, they are nice. I recommend to get a room as high up as possible since the noise from Times Square is loud. We stayed on the 28th floor next to the elevator. We heard no noise from the elevator but we could hear the City that never sleeps below. Bring ear plugs if you are sensitive to noise. I enjoyed the location since it is in the center of lower Manhattan and it was our first time in Manhattan. Within two blocks is Hells kitchen for dinner. For the price I would expect free internet service. At $13 a day it was a bit steep. There is a refrigerator under the sink for keeping your left overs and drinks. My wife wants to stay in SoHo next time we visit. This is a good hotel for Times Square.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floor.

Not my usual type of hotel choice, but traveling with an extended family group, it was absolutely perfect! We got some large, clean, regular rooms plus a "presidential suite", where we could all gather around for a NY takeaway dinner before the theater. Located in the midst of everything but slightly to one side, still a busy area, but there is a little less constant craziness than at the Marriott, which gets pretty wild. Easy walks to the theaters and subway. Nice bar. Slightly startling decor in the area of the restaurant & breakfast area. Restaurant was the weakest link. So so food, slow service. But no problem, there must be 100 restaurants within steps!
Subway note for family groups: the ticket machines will only allow you to buy 2 tickets per credit card! Prepare for Plan B!
