We enjoyed our stay at the Double Tree. The rooms were large, the beds are comfortable. This is a big deal for me since I don't sleep well in hotel beds, they are nice. I recommend to get a room as high up as possible since the noise from Times Square is loud. We stayed on the 28th floor next to the elevator. We heard no noise from the elevator but we could hear the City that never sleeps below. Bring ear plugs if you are sensitive to noise. I enjoyed the location since it is in the center of lower Manhattan and it was our first time in Manhattan. Within two blocks is Hells kitchen for dinner. For the price I would expect free internet service. At $13 a day it was a bit steep. There is a refrigerator under the sink for keeping your left overs and drinks. My wife wants to stay in SoHo next time we visit. This is a good hotel for Times Square.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floor.

Not my usual type of hotel choice, but traveling with an extended family group, it was absolutely perfect! We got some large, clean, regular rooms plus a "presidential suite", where we could all gather around for a NY takeaway dinner before the theater. Located in the midst of everything but slightly to one side, still a busy area, but there is a little less constant craziness than at the Marriott, which gets pretty wild. Easy walks to the theaters and subway. Nice bar. Slightly startling decor in the area of the restaurant & breakfast area. Restaurant was the weakest link. So so food, slow service. But no problem, there must be 100 restaurants within steps!
Subway note for family groups: the ticket machines will only allow you to buy 2 tickets per credit card! Prepare for Plan B!

This hotel is located in the heart of Times Square which was a perfect site for my grandchildren's first visit to NYC. We had king room suite 4201 with views both of Times Square and the Hudson River. The room showed signs of wear probably due to the many families that select this perfect spot for their home base but the room configuration was ideal for our family. The 16 year old slept on the sofa bed with the bright lights of TS shining throughout the night by his choice and the 10 year old sharing the king bed with the grandparents. Even though it was a pain moving on and off each day, the foam mattress available upon request greatly improved the comfort of the sofa bed. While their services were infrequently used, the hotel staff was always cordial, professional and helpful. The hotel is easily accessible to various subway stations and is a short walk to many must see sites. Also we recommend the Evergreen Restaurant (and Monica the waitress) as a less expensive alternative to the hotel for breakfast. Overall the location and suite style rooms of the hotel make this the perfect spot for a first time trip to the Big Apple.

Room Tip: While more expensive, the Times Square upper floor view rooms are well worth it for children's first time NYC visit. Even though in the heart of the action, very quiet and blackout curtains shut out the bright lights if that is desirable.

I have stayed at this location twice and both visits were excellent. During this visit we arrived early and we checked in promptly. The front desk agent that checked us in was friendly and helpful. We mentioned were in the city to celebrate my daughters 7th birthday, we were given a lovely suite with a great view. When we returned to the hotel after exploring we found a very special birthday dessert waiting for my daughter. The location is excellent in walking distance of all of the Times Square attractions as well as Rockefeller center and 5th avenue. Our Suite was large, nicely decorated and very clean. This is our favorite NYC hotel and we can't wait to visit again. They truly made my daughters birthday special.

This is a great place to stay in the middle of Timesquar, nice and clean hotel, good service, the only thing that I can say it's that you have to be careful when you buy your Broadway tickets there, we were very disapointed as they sold us 6 ticket, and the night of the show we went to pick them up, and they just then told us that they were sold out!!, we are waiting and hoping that they refund us our money, but the worst was that we lost one valuable night and couldnt see the show, I hope next time they let you know with time this kind of things, as it is part of the hotel service
