Last time we came to NYC we paid a lot for a tiny room way outside of times square. This time we were bringing our 16-year old and 11-year old for a special sweet 16 trip and wanted to upgrade a little...and were shocked to find a reasonable price for a suite at the DoubleTree Suites in Times Square. We got the suite -- two rooms separated by a door with access to the bathroom by both -- and each of those rooms was bigger than the one I rented off site last time. It had microwave, fridge, safe, TVs, internet, etc. We flew in to avoid driving through the city (definitely recommend that!) and took a cab to the city, but then walked or took the subway everywhere we went.

The staff was great, and were always looking out for us. The housekeeper saw us come in, noticed that we had two kids with us and by the time we got back from our evening out had put extra towels in our room and made up the sofa bed! The room was spacious and had a great view of the city, and the noise & neon of times square was shut out by the drapes. And after 8pm the doorman checked our key cards before letting us in (though after day 1 he recognized us and greeted us) to keep wandering visitors from coming up and disturbing/stealing from guests.

All in all, would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Queen suite with sofa bed is worth the extra $50ish for families with kids. A door between the room...

This Suite hotel is very well suited for a family of 5 which is a rarity nowadays. Very clean and well served rooms, quiet day and night. Practical and handsome bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed working out in the gym ! The location is ideal and safe for children and although the entrance is understated once you get to the rooms you will be aware that the hotel meets your standard. We can fully recommend this Suite hotel and will surely book again when we return to NYC, one problem less.

Room Tip: Look out for a TIME SQUARE Watchtower view !

We stayed here last weekend for my birthday. The suites are very spacious, felt like an apartments. We also had an awesome view of Times Square. The shower and bed were amazing. I slept so well, I didn't want to leave in the morning. I was impressed with their security, most hotels don't make your show key card before entering the lobby..that was a good precaution. I do however have a few gripes:
1. Check -In was extremely slow, maybe their should be more than two people handling that.
2. Sunday night their was no hot water. This is not something I was informed of at check-in. Needless to say I was furious, when trying to take a shower before dinner and then being told the steam was off in that location. Note, it wasn't the fact that there was no hot water (it was beyond the hotel's control), it was how rude the front desk staff was when explaining the situation. She sarcastically told me that there were letters at the front desk and one in the rooms. Guests shouldn't have to search for information like that, lack of hot water is a big deal. I should have been informed while we were checking-in. So for that reason, I would give them a 3 for customer service, I expect better of a Hilton brand.
Would I stay again? Absolutely, the rooms left little to be desired and the area is great. We also got a deal through trip advisor that was better than my Hilton Honors rate.

Room Tip: High floors offer a great view of Times Square

Dear Pemrose414,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our hotel. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with hot water and interaction with our staff. This is not typical of our hotel and staff, and the issues you mentioned have been discussed with our team. As of hot water, our building steam system was interrupted due to emergency repair in the area by Con Edison. Our system had been restored after a couple of hours.

We always strive to provide a 5 star service to all of our guests, and your satisfaction is important to us. Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope you will give us another opportunity to make your stay the best it can be.

We stayed here for a 3-day weekend girls trip. The two double beds suite was perfect since there were 4 of us. We did not feel cramped at all. The hotel is in a great location and is really easy to get in/out of traffic wise. This was my first time driving into Manhattan and it wasn't that bad. There is a parking garage around the block from the hotel and access in/out was easy. The rooms were clean and spacious and the housekeeping service gets started early. We did not dine in the restaurant because it was pricey and there were so many other choices in the city. This hotel is convenient to everything that is New York. I have visited NY frequently and have always stayed away from Times Square due to the room rates. We had to bite the bullet/price tag for these rooms in order to have an ideal location in NY. This will definitely be my first choice of hotels for all future NY trips.

We stayed in the upgraded suite (I apologize I don't know the name of it). It was very roomy, although laid out very oddly because it feels choppy. I loved having the larger room, the dining area and den though! The hotel staff was lovely and the view from our room on the 38th floor was so nice (although when I was looking out one day the window washer suprised me). It is in the heart of Times Square, next to the subway and lots of restaurants and entertainment located nearby.

The hotel staff is great, we were upgraded to a larger suite at check in to better accommodate our family. The hotel room itself was very clean, well maintained and very spacious. It was a short walk to many attractions. The location was perfect for all things Times Square!

Whenever I am in NYC I stay at the DoubleTree Suites in Times Square. This is by far the best hotel I have stayed at and have been going back year after year. They are very friendly, food is excellent, and the staff will do anything for you that you need!!!! Shout out to Benny Adriel and Hannah who work in the restaurant and remember my family year after year! They are the best. This hotel should realize what they have in these 2 employees! They are amazing. See you all soon!
