DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel New York City - Times Square
Ranked #188 of 473 Hotels in New York City
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed March 20, 2013

The location is perfect for families, and the size of the rooms too.
But what makes this hotel excellent is the dedication of Mr Brian Choi !!!
He is in every detail, finally you feel at home.
And this is not what you usually feel in other NYC hotels.

We stayed at DoubleTree from March 10th to 14. We wanted to stay right in Times Square and was advised by our travel agent to stay here. This location was great, close to everything! The favourite of the kids were the hot cookies that you get when you arrive! The boys stopped off at the front desk daily to get their fix!

The hotel was very clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly. I appreciated the evening regulations requiring guests to verify their status by showing their room key when entering the building. Makes us feel safe and secure.

This location was close to everything and keep your walking shoes ready as it is the best way to get around.

Hope you enjoy your stay!

Room Tip: We booked a suite with a king size bed in one room, and a sofa bed in the living room for the kids...

Our annual "girly" trip to New York - us girls being Mother-in-Law plus both daughters-in-law - was an absolute ball....as always.

The combination of days of shopping in New York and further afield (Jersey Gardens & Woodbury Common) and afternoons/evenings enjoying ourselves (Bubba Gump restaurant plus tea at the Plaza) were all the more enjoyable by our stay right in the centre of New York.

The Double Tree Suites by Hilton Hotel in Times Square was the PERFECT place for us to stay with everything about the hotel of a very high standard.

Our room - very well maintained by the housekeeping crew - was great for the three of us and gave us the flexibility of eating in if we wanted to.

We would like to mention the particularly high level of service provided by the hotel's Front Desk and Concierge teams.

Congratulations to everyone who helps keep this hotel at such a high standard!

Jen Woodward - The Mother-in-Law!

My partner and I have stayed at Double Tree Guest Suites three times in the last three years (06/12, 05/11 and 06/10), and have a reservation waiting for us again this June. Talk about the perfect location, right in Times Square, close to the Subway, shopping, great dining and all the sights one would want to take in while in the great city of New York. The staff is wonderful and courteous, The rooms are comfortable, clean, well appointed and we always get an awesome view (we always book an upper floor). We have never been disappointed and we will always come back.

Room Tip: the higher the floor, the better the view!

I was at this hotel from January 19th 2013 until January 25th. When I first got there I was amazed be the efficiency of the employees and porters waiting to get my luggage to my room.
So far, ok! When I entered the reception, the front desk was so efficient, I got amazed. They were so fast and friendly...
When I got to my room, another LOL! The room is perfectly cleaned and neat! There were even strawberries, blueberries and chocolate waiting for us! I almost forgot the amazing Doubletree Cookies the front desk gives you( don't be shy to ask for some more everyday, if you want).
The Facebook page advertised one broadway ticket for the price of one, and when I got there, they had no clue about it...only bad thing.
Check out was equally easy and simple. The only negative aspect is the Internet connexion, but I booked the hotel aware of it, so I can't really complain.
Totally recommend it!

We were celebrating a 50 birthday and booked this Hotel through Thomas Cook. We booked a suite for 5. When we arrived the room wasn't ready so we left our bags with the Bell Boy and went to explore. When we arrived back at the hotel we were given Room 3112. It had one bedroom with two small very small double beds with screwed up valances that had never seen an iron and a very small cluttered lounge with a pull out settee. No way could this accommodate five of us. There were only 4 towels, 4 paper cups and 4 glasses Why do they supply a microwave? There are no plates or cutlery - so what would you put in the microwave? We
complained but was told there wasn't anything else available unless we were willing to pay. They ended up supplying us with a roll up bed that we had to put up against the wall during the day and a night we had to move the chairs to one side to to get the bed down. There wasn't any space round the bed to walk round once the bed was down. We were told we wouldn't be charged for the roll up bed - very kind of them!!!!

We were determined this wouldn't spoil the holiday - we wouldn't let it! But how disappointing.

We estimate we probably paid £2000 (£850 per person inc flights) for 4 nights - how very, very disappointing. We most certainly will not be recommending this hotel. This price did not include breakfast.

We have been to America before and have been to New York - we will go again - but not to this hotel.

The room was passable for 3 or maybe even a push at 4 but it was an insult to put 5 in this room.
