The room we stayed in was amazing, although not the best view it was still perfect for what we needed. Having a separate living area was brilliant and gave us the extra room you so often crave from hotel rooms.
The service was impeccable from check-in to the moment we left for the airport. The welcoming cookie is a lovely touch and our coffee was always replenished whenever we asked.
All in all a great hotel with great service!

There were so many great things. From the free Cookies at check in, all the way through to the later than usual check out at 1pm. Staff wonderful, we forgot toothpaste and they bought us up some each night. Concierge lovely and helpful. The vibrancy of the location. So central!!

But also the rooms are great, the prices are good, it has a gym and you're in the heart of NYC!!!!

We walked all of manhattan during our stay and I saw a bunch of the other hotels I looked at. I'm so glad I went with double
Trees. If you are going to NYC you need the full experience. Book here!!

We stayed up all night at the bar once and the bar tender, james, was so awesome, been there 19 years and kept us entertained all evening. You will love it. Coming to NYC as a tourist?? Then why be anywhere else.

10/10

stayed here in feb 2013 and what a great hotel. We had a king size corner suite on the 34th floor with 3 windows and views of Times Square and the Hudson River (room 3401). Our room was next to the 5 lifts and we never heard any noise. The suite itself was roomy, with a bedroom with king size bed and lounge with double sofa bed. We asked for a memory foam topper for the sofa bed at reception when we arrived and it was brought to the room within 10 minutes. The windows had blackout linings so there was no issue at all with lights from Times Square. Also no problem with noise from the street - this could be because we were high up. The delicious cookies are a treat, and available if you ask whenever you want one not just at checking in (we indulged in the cookies almost everyday)! We had to buy some english tea bags at the local deli/grocer round the corner as the hotel only supplied Earl Grey or Chamomile and coffee in the room (none of which I like). Also bought fresh milk, danish pastries, fruit, and cheesecake from Juniors to leave in the fridge for the week. This meant we could relax and eat breakfast in our room at a fraction of the cost of eating out. Felt quite surreal sitting in my pyjamas drinking english tea watching the amazing view of Times Square! Nothing about this hotel was dissappointing. We were very happy with our stay, the staff were great, room comfy, facilities good (cant moan about 2 huge flat screen tvs, shower AND bath, fridge, microwave, hot drinks, and safe in the room), free use of the business centre for email or printing boarding passes, free luggage storage, reception on 3rd floor away from the hustle and bustle of the street, and downstairs security that waved down a taxi for us to get to the airport - something virtually impossible to do in the heart of Times Square during rush hour! And the views - WOW!

Room Tip: ask for a room high up for great views and less noise

First let me begin by stating we travel to NYC many times a year. We have stayed at several hotels in the city. We have been pleased with many of the hotels but the Double Tree in Times Square has been the best. The location is perfect since it is close to several of the subway lines, not just one of them. You can easily get to any part of the city. The hotel is quiet even though you are in the heart of Times Square. You walk out the front door and you are in all the action of Times Square. In the room, it is quiet and great views of the city or Times Square. The rooms are large suites that easily can accommodate a group of four or more. There are two separate rooms- one is a bedroom with a super comfortable bed and the other room is a living area with a sleeper sofa, desk, kitchen area with a microwave and refrigerator. Large flat screen TVs in each room. Large bathroom with nice toiletries provided. Never waited on an elevator and we were on the 21st floor. Never felt crowded even though the hotel was sold out. You enter at the ground floor and the lobby is on the third floor. So you take two elevators to get to your room. Quick and polite staff. Accommodated a later check out. Nice business center and workout room. I would most definitely stay here again if the price is comparable to other properties. We were able to get a $189 rate which is about half the usual rate. I would say any rate under $300 at this hotel is well worth it. This is the way to stay in NYC. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a city view/partial Times Square room. That way you can see both parts of the c...

Walk out the front door and you are on Times Square. The rooms are very spacious for Manhattan, modern and well appointed. The common areas are functional but relatively plain. Prices are moderate. It's a good choice if you want to be in the heart of the Manhattan experience.

Room Tip: Get a high room to help avoid street noise.

If you want to be in the middle of all the action this hotel has a great location. We drove though and finding parking was very difficult. Hotel was very clean and the hotel staff were helpful and friendly.
