Just spent an amazing Week in the cosmopolitan. The hotel is situated close to the subway and restaurants. We have all stayed at hotels in the past where the lobby is grand and the rooms are substandard. Well this hotel just delivers. The rooms are very well equipped and the service is 1st class. I can not recommend this hotel highly enough. Thank you so much for helping to make my visit to NY so special.

We booked the Cosmopolitan online because of the proximity to the World Trade Center memorial and because we had never stayed in Tribeca. When I arrived I was shocked by the old building, the construction and the general seediness of the neighborhood. How wrong appearances can be! The staff was very friendly and helpful. They got us into our room almost immediately even though we were hours early. The room was small but modern and very comfortable. The bath was recently remodeled and very nice. The sheets and towels were Frette!! It was very, very nice and unexpected.

Room Tip: Rooms on the Chambers street side have a view of the new WTC but it was noisy because of the constru...

Very convenient if your business is in or near the WTC. Also it is an easy run in from JFK on the airtrain/subway to Chambers St.stop. Other than that, your money buys you a box with a lobby. That's it. It's no better or worse than anywhere else in NYC for $450/night. Personally I think that paying an extra $100/night or so gets you a much improved hotel room in NYC. Where $450 buys you a box, $600 can really take you upmarket. It's worth paying the extra. But if your budget really is limited, the Cosmo is OK.

Room Tip: Don't get a room with a window onto the central well, it's used as a giant ashtray.

I stayed at Cosmopolitan Hotel while I was in NY for 2012 US Open.
Hotel location is just amazing. Cosmopolitan is located right next to the Chamber Street Subway stop. It is one of the most reliable and fastest Subway lines in NYC. If you catch the express train you can be in Times Sq. in less than 7 minutes! If you are going to the US Open that is where you transfer to the #7 Train that will take you to Flushing USTA National Tennis Center.
The hotel stuff was really nice. The room were exceptionally clean!
I asked for a quiet room so I was given a room in the back. I didn’t hear none of the usual NYC traffic noise, which was great. The room was spacious to!
Overall it was a nice stay.

Room Tip: The rooms in the back are great! Quiet.

Great hotel! I recently stayed here while visiting old New York. I was surprise by the chic, cleanness, modernness and great service! The train was right on the corner! Traveling could not have been made easier. I had a little problem on the first day with my television but, this young man I believe his name was Michael came kindly and quickly took care of the problem. He was very patient and hospitable he really made the service of this hotel stand out. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

It was a good location if the place you needed to be was on that metro line otherwise you had to walk the same distance as staying elsewhere.
We had two rooms one of which was expected to sleep 3 people - once the bed was out there was no room to walk about and the size of the bathroom was nothing short of a joke for that number. We did ask the front desk to help to accomodate us in a larger room but the "warm and friendly" lot must have been on holiday and every day we asked they were singularly unable to help and we asked every day. I would have happily paid for a larger room. (George the porter/bellboy was the exception - he was great!)

We used the Cosmopolitan Cafe one morning and were charged $9.50 for a cup of coffee and $8.00 for a tea which was extortionate!

Also a point to note there is a computerised booking system in the foyer which we used to book our transfer to the airport - don't we were nearly killed by the maniac driver. No doubt the hotel will say that is not their responsibility but it is prominently displayed in reception and no alternative was offered by the desk staff.

Also we were bitten to death in both rooms - not sure what by as the windows didn't open!

Not a pleasant experience to be recommended and I am perplexed why some people do.

A boutique hotel. Modern, fresh, lots going for it. Off the back of reviews on here I always used the stairs but no hardship. Staff were warm and friendly, accommodation 'cosy' but adequate and we had a lovely stay. I joined my husband later so he spent the first couple of nights in a loft room which I believe he was tempted to pay the extra to check out of had there been room available, but having slept a night in there he found that it really wasn't that bad being able to touch the ceiling whilst sitting in bed...
