The staff were helpful, the room was clean and the location is fantastic. We had quite a mix up with the initial booking when we booked and received confirmation for a loft room for 2 adults and a 5yr old child. The hotel later advised the well known website we booked through that this room wouldn't accomodate the 3 of us, when the website clearly stated that there was a pull out bed in the loft room and that children were permtted to stay free of charge. We were told that we could cancel or book a bigger room and pay a higher rate. It took a week of communication between ourselves, the booking website and the hotel to reach a suitable agreement. The hotel eventually confirmed that the loft room would be suitable, and indeed it was.
We liked the quirkyness of the loft room but if you are tall, have a problem with claustraphobia, or a fear of heights then do not book this type of room, as the bed is on a very high mezzanine level very close to the ceiling (close enough to the ceiling in our room to actually touch whilst lying in bed). The stairs up to the bed area are steep and very dangerous and there was only a barrier of 2 thin poles to prevent accidents down to the space below. It was akin to an outdoor fire escape. The bathroom is also very small with only a half tub (big enough for our 5yr old). So if you are trawling Manhattan on foot do not expect to have a long soak upon your return as a shower is all that's possible. Having said that, the water pressure was fantastic and the shower was more than adequate for our needs. The only real downside for us was that it would have been a nice touch to have some tea & coffee facilities provided in the room.

Room Tip: There is a great deal of road works going on in front of the hotel at the moment which start noisely at 7am. Not a problem for us with an energetic youngster who wakes early but if you require a peace and quiet, request a room further away from the main road.

My friends and I stayed at the Cosmopolitan for a shopping-bachelorette weekend getaway. The hotel's staff were very helpful in all our needs and attends to us with a smile. The hotel is very very accessible to subway lines and we did not get a hard time going to and from our destination. The hotel is also one subway ride away from the Airport (take the A train from Church St). Check in and check-out was a breeze as well.

Stayed here for 4 days while on holiday in NYC. Hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Rooms are very smartly decorated. My tip is to ask for one at the back while the construction continues outside. We asked at check in and they were more than happy to oblige. Our room was all we needed and more and had a huge flat screen tv.

Good cafe locations nearby - my only complaint was lack of kettle or coffee facilities in room, but there is a starbucks right downstairs.

Overall location is great - Chambers st subway is right outside and its walkable to downtown new york.

Again - very satisfied customers. 5 stars from us.

Marcella was on vacation when I was last there, but never mind, Jenny took excellent care of me, she is truly wonderful, pretty, charming, so accommodating, and I do want to mention other staff: Jaime and Victor, and Jon, (John) all excellent. They end up treating you like family! And, of course, the location cannot be beat. Two subway stops right outside the door, and the Broadway line just a couple of blocks away. It is surrounded by great restaurants. I stay there time and again, because after a busy day in Manhattan, I always feel like I'm coming home. It is as "clean as a whistle," and the windows open, a necessity for me. The price is generally as good as one can find in NYC. I'll come back again and again. Maryann Harman-Walke
